Does anyone have any ideas as to how to get melted boot rubber off the exhaust pipes.  I have to chrome conti style pipes and for some reason my left heel rubs on the pipe where it meets the header.  :(

I'm going to try the petroleum solvent method when I get home tonight.  Since the chrome is in perfect condition I would hesitate using an abrasive.  As hard as chrome is, it still likes to scratch.

hmmmmmm....don't really know the answer to that one

no you can't.  use a brillo pad with soap and lightly rub the pipe but the same color/look will return.  work it slowly with lots of water but again it's not worth the time since they will turn again.
