Does anyone know if the kick stand foot on the 1200 multi is the same as a 696? thinking of taking some trips this summer, and might be in sandy areas

I don't have an answer for your question, but that sure isn't going to stop me from chiming in...

I use one of these guys for less than perfect kickstand terrain:

Upside: Cheap
Downside: You can lose 'em

I used to have one that came with the "members kit" from TOB.

Sadly, it got lost somewhere between Kansas and Kentucky.

If it turns out to be a hot commmodity, I'll have to consider selling one of ours for a premium!!!  [cheeky]

Where can these be purchased?  Also why is there a little hole drilled thru it?  Is that where you would mount it with some sort of screw to the bottom of the kickstand foot?

DucatiTorrey

any bike shop really, mainly used to prevent melting of ashfualt and dropping your bike. i came out one summer here in CO and my bike was over 2" into the parking lot, leaning hard! No idea what the hole is for, mine doesn't have them, laniard?
