The DMF helped me find a 999!

If you hadn't heard
So we traveled to SC this past week to pickup a 999.
Pics of the week up until the bike can be found
HERE
I couldn't pass this up for the money. It's an 05 Biposto. The last owner immediately convereted it to a mono, did a full Zard system, had a custome PC map done on the dyno (132 rwhp!), Ohlins shock and forks and some flashy clutch bits.
It was getting dark when I took these with my Droid X so the quality isn't super, but they're not IZ either
What I looked at for 12 hours yesterday-
And after we got home-
And lastly, since there was a raging thread about how to tie bikes down for travel, here's my method.
Baxley chock for the front wheel. It keeps the bike upright.
RATCHET straps around the rear wheel, from both sides, prevents the rear from moving to either side even if it jumps up off the bed surface.
RATCHET strap around the front wheel, over top, to keep it locked down to the bed.
The bike can't move and you don't compress the forks or the shock.
It works

There is a sign in one picture that says Mount Morris. Are you by any chance from MI. If so that is too funny. I am from MI and know that area well. I now live in SC in the Spartanburg/Greenville area. You said 12 hours which is roughly the travel time depending on how risky you are with speeding.

I can't find the Mount Morris sign
We're from Meadville PA, 30minutes south of Erie.

Anywho, GZ on the new ride. Although, being a motorcycle forum, I have to say this. Why didn't you fly down and ride back.

Very nice indeed and a sweet deal!
Great mods! I either need to win the lottery or rob a 7-11 to get the cash for the Ohlins fork set up on mine.
Got the damper and shock. Even got a sweet ebay deal years ago on the factory "S" number plate tail section. My '05 has the full 57mm Termi which I also got a sweet deal on but I'd trade it all to go back in time and just buy the 999S outright in the first place. Oh well...
Nice bike, you'll love it! [moto]

999 in red with the white number plates on the nose and tail is the very best looking 999, outside of a factory race bike.

Inside of a factory race bike is crowded, and smells like oil.

Get an Evoluzione license plate relocator bracket kit. It maintains the stock turn signals but really cleans up the rear of the bike. You'll love it when you get one on the bike!
http://evoluzione.net/
The one in the picture for Ducatis on their website is actually the one for the Tamburinis, which I have on both of mine. The 999 kit looks different from the website pic but works just as well and they are real easy to mount up. Great, semi cheap visual mod.
