Motodynamics integrated tail light and fender eliminator.  Probably won't get them on until next weekend, though.

Mmmmm.  I don't know; that's what I read ... I will weigh the old one sitting in my garage.  If it isn't 9, it's for sure a lot.  When I got the UPS package, I couldn't figure out what I had ordered that was so light; I was all "well it's sure as hell not the battery," then I opened it up.  Amazing! Anyway, the website said like 9 lbs, but you're right, that could be wrong ... or my eyes are getting bad, whichever.
Okay, I confess.  I'm a physics teacher, and I'm at work and the bike's home (32 out this morning) but the question was making me crazy so I got all the specs and did the math.  I will still measure it when I get home, but the (theoretical) difference comes out to 8.34lbs.  Whatever it actually turns out to be, I figure it's still going to be a pretty nice little  weight reduction for what it took in $ and work.  Should I post a tutorial, do you think?  I did take some pics as I worked.

If you could actually weigh it that would put a nail in it.  Most people don't care but I'm a weight loss junkie waytogo.  Straight from the Shorai website for their recommended LFX18a1-BS12 (I'm assuming this is the model you went with?):

"This LFX battery is 7.81 Lbs. lighter than the lead-acid YT14B-BS-D. For technical questions, please see the Shorai FAQ."

They list the LFX battery at 2.31lbs.

This thread: http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=61980.30 put the weight savings at from the Stock Yuasa --> Shorai LFX 18 at 5.2lbs:

Opened up my wallet to Monsterparts.com and bought:
 - Zero gravity windscreen
 - tank pad grips
 - 14T front sprocket
 - Ogio tail bag
 - 4 NGK spark plugs
 - stainless steel exhaust pipes
 - Speedymoto pressure plate
 - other bits I'm sure I've forgotten about

for every $1.00 I spend on Gina, I then spend $0.50 on the wife directly, indirectly, the house and bills are ALL my responsibility Grin

Ya know, most of us can buy whatever we want for our Ducs.  Getting a girl that rides one next to you?  Priceless!   bow down
