Sadly, I agree with you all.  It looks out of place on my bike but damn its nice to have a *little* wind protection on the freeway.  My Diavel will soon takeover freeway duty so this windscreen wont be needed for long thankfully.

Soon to come: New custom paint, new fiberglass tail, and finally the multistrada bellypan!

huh? What Diavel?

I just picked up a nice little Rizoma MA005 handlebar in Black.  Kinda wanted the silver but was told it is a poor match for the stock silver on my 2013 EVO.  Hopefully this bar will allow a little more seat time before the body starts to hurt.  After riding the Multistrada for five days and 2350 miles I have to say that being a bit more upright was not a bad thing.

Two broken collarbones and a broken wrist have taken their toll on leaning forward a lot.  If the bar does not help me get through 300 miles without pain I may end up trading her in for a Multi.....  :'(     Don't want to though as my Monster has a huge parts list........  Suppose I could pull all the aftermarket stuff and trade it in stock but really really want this bar to workout!
Who told you that?!!!  Huh? What was HIS agenda? No conflict in colors at all..., just much more nicely finished. I've posted this many times before. You might want to consider those Tech Spec pads too and they REALLY take a lot more weight off at lower speeds in combination with the bar. Broke my shoulder four years ago and feel your pain..., not to mention all the racing injuries...  Cool

The black bars were in stock?  I like the silver on yours a lot.  Think I will take the bar back.  Exactly which model do you have on yours?  Any mods to make it fit?

Had the dealer fit mine prior to delivery. (Not my first rodeo either.  Wink) No parts needed but minor rerouting might be required. When I picked it up, I couldn't adjust the mirrors adequately and the dealer (and I mean dealer principal) redrilled the holes for the instrument locating pin accordingly, so you want to be there when yours are fitted. Angle of the bar might need to be tweaked a hair for tank clearance. The "Rizoma" appears in the "window" on the bar clamp more or less centered, maybe a hair high.

Model is MA008A. If you don't have the 796 riser, swap that out too. I believe the later EVO's have it though. The 2011 didn't and was 20mm lower. http://www.motovationusa.com/mvstore/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=562

S4Rs In Michigan

« Reply #1175 on: September 27, 2013, 03:53:46 AM »

DP windscreen.  Not sure I'm feeling it just yet but it definitely adds some wind protection compared to full naked.  Ya or nay?

I hate/love Acc and mods.  You guys make my S4Rs feel like a sled, but I love it.  Comments about the the shield mudding up a good thing are right.  I like mine but it is larger and does a good job of breaking up the flow, yours being small can't be worth what it takes away from the rest of your bike.  Nay

Someone get this freaking needle out of my arm!

Just bought a 15t front and a 41 rear sprocket.  Realized that the 14tooth front had lowered the chain height enough that the chain is chewing through the rubber swing arm guard.  So I bought a 15 tooth front and upped the rear two teeth.  that should save the swing arm from damage and provide a nice balance between teh uber low 14t and teh way too tall 15 tooth.

Mo money mo money mo money!

Now you will need a new longer chain.

Yea, thought I would......  Bike has 6k on it and all the sprockets/ chain looks great still so I will keep them in case I decide to do a big freeway ride someday......

On Monday, I am gonna go buy one of the X-ring chains that comes in black.......

Had to add:  wrong sprocket.  The one the guy handed me was for a DSW I have a SSW.  Thought it looked skinny.......

Should start a "what does not fit a 2013 Evo thread".  This is the first bike I have had that requires a ton of research prior to buying parts for.  The shops do not yet know that some of the stuff from 2012 models does not fit a 2013.

Ducabike clutch slave?  NOPE!
Bitubo steering Damper? NOPE!
Givi Tank-loc bag? NOPE!  (this may be fixed now as I saw a giant ugly updated bracket)

Just installed the Rizoma MA005bar on my 2012 EVO, with a custom riser that my dealer knew about. The riser fits between the triple clamp and the OEM riser and gives about 3/4" extra lift. I opted for the gold bar because it matches the gold forks nicely. After two rides without the dreaded wrist pain, the initial results are promising.

Background information here: http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=64942.0

The cables took a bit of rerouting and were *almost* long enough, but not really a problem. The control modules on each side don't quite fit flush against the grips, so they leave a small gap. The only consequence is that my left thumb has to be re-trained to streatch a bit further to the turn signal switch. Tweak the steering stops when finished and you're good to go.

But I could NEVER go 300 miles without pain, even if they were forged from dilithium crystals and sprinkled with fairy dust.  Shocked

Just curious. Did your 2012 EVO have the same taller stock riser on the 796 or the earlier short EVO one? If memory serves, the difference is 20mm.

Why didn't you go for the taller MA008 with more sweep BTW? Pix, please.  Wink

How much is the switch gap now? If not much, why not trim the ends of the bar cleanly with a pipe cutter before your thumbs drop off? Grin

Give this setup a while. Even I can do 300 miles in a day; not in one sitting of course! Smiley

The EVO and the 796 risers are the same.

You're right, I did want some extra height. That's why I went for the custom riser that mounts underneath the OEM piece. But the MA005 actually has 2 degrees more sweep-back than the 008. I'll try to get some pix together.

First, I'll just try to train my thumb to reach further.

If you can do it, then I can do it, dadgumit. And now get off my lawn!  Grin

Pix..., or it didn't happen.  Cool How "ugly" is that riser? I presume we now have ~ the same height. Consider the Tech Spec pads too. They really help me when the going is slow.

Bend of the MA008 seems quite natural. I guess you have 2 degrees more. http://www.motovationusa.com/mvstore/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=562

Just how much gap do you have? 3 - 4 mm? It's really easy to trim that off cleanly with the right pipe cutter. Used to do that on the Renthal bars on my trials bikes back in the day.

Lawn? You're not beach front in Santa Barbara?  Grin

I'll try to get some pix. You could say the riser is "ugly" or you could say it's a nice simple solution. It doesn't really stand out visually. And yes, I think we both now have about the same height.

Just how much gap do you have? 3 - 4 mm?

That's about right. I don't really mind the looks, but my thumbs have to be retrained. I think they're still trainable.

It's beach front lawn. Wink
