For the $2700 price point, you're getting into smaller used dual-sport territory.  I even found a KLX250 with under 1,000 miles for $3K locally, so I'd be more likely to put my money there.

I would never shell out that much for what I regard to be a toy...used would be my route...there is nothing rational about my wanting one...pure whim...but I have price limits on what I am willing to spend on a pure whim indulgence

the question would be whether I would want a 50 or a 125 to goose up...a 50 has the same frame geometry and motor mounts as the 125 evidently so it would accommodate something like this 4 valve:   http://fasttrails.com/Item271/Sachs_Madass_160cc_4_Valve_engine_Madass_Sachs_Engine_Performance_Madass.aspx

That would make my ton-up starting point only 25 mph shy of the desired mark....would need to figure out how to close the gap....gearing maybe, some sort of fairing, nitro <laughing>

I can't wait until Marquez gets on his level and makes Jorge trip on his tampon string.

It's called a leaf blower motor. I'm serious.

That's not a bad idea either. Talk about forced induction!  :o

Why didn't the factory think of this?  ;D

The leaf blower turbo idea is pretty interesting, but for an around town, high MPG grocery getter, I like this: http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/products/modelhome/596/home.aspx

In VA you did not have to tag the 50cc when I got mine to run around locally and also use as a pit bike. Now you don't have to tag any of them anymore as long as you don't get caught doing over 35. Easily upgraded, and they now have better seats that bolt on, the early seats were literally a PITA. Biggest issue I have is all the safety crap makes warming up that little motor difficult. - Gene
