Exactly. A much cheaper purchase than BSTs.
To even compare these to BST's is a bit absurd, sorry. .08lbs of weight savings at a position very close to the center of the wheel isn't going to do much. most of the effect of CF wheels is because the weight is reduced at the outer most radius of the wheel, where it's effect is amplified even more than the 5:1 ration of benefit between unsprung and sprung weight that so many people quote.
Nothing wrong with retail therapy, but let's not kid ourselves into thinking this is worthwhile. I'm assuming you were kinda kidding about your comment, and I'm not trying to be rude, but you never know who will think this is worthwhile.

of course..
but unless jenny craig works wonders i am replacing all of the bolts on the bike with Ti.. and the actual amount of savings for one wheel 0.16875 lbs. For both wheels, it's 0.253125 lbs...
that's like.. a whole sandwich...

I'm in the mood for some retail therapy myself. was thinking about doing a steering damper but I really wish kyle would make a nice over the triple kit for an ohlins unit. Anyway, I digress. Carry on!

Dammit... I just bought them and simultaneously called Ben a moron for spending all that money on his BSTs. Now I just look like a fool...

It's worthwhile if the rest of the front end bolts are Ti, with a lightweight axle & Ti nut, BSTs, and some billet calipers. In that scenario it's definitely worthwhile.

OK, the real reason is that I'm getting them cheap. Like cheaper than you can imagine. Maybe I'll pass that along if I can corner the market. It's not easy finding an ISO9000 factory in China these days.. I mean with a real ISO cert. lol..

I've seen multiple heads snap off the "nicest" (meaning overpriced) ti hardware long before the suggested torque specs are met. To be honest, I'm not sure if the chinese stuff would be worse than the iso cert'd stuff from probolt or "tastynuts"

Plenty of Cert'd Ti already here in the states. And for cheap. My .02, and I've spent a lot more than that on Ti for my S4r

i think i have Ti rotor bolts on every duc in the garage - whether it be completed bikes, project bike, or a pile of parts for a bike i don't yet own. unsprung weight is unsprung weight - any reduction is worthwhile since it translates into a significant change relative to the same amount of weight reduction of sprung weight.
the project sbk is all Ti bolts (so far... clearly i'm not yet done), ti or alu axles & pivots, etc etc. my monster is all ti external bolts and will receive a Ti swingarm pivot and rear axle next winter, and when the cases are split to get the crank balanced, I'll replace all the internal bolts with Ti too.
And I've had zero Ti bolt failures while torquing to spec or during extended/continuous use.

You'll say that until you take the SC for a ride.
