I was able to save the tank, rear shock, belt covers, brake calipers, rear cowl, slave cylinder, master cylinders, levers and tall boys before the MAN took her away.   chug

Got some advice from Ducpainter and repainted my belt covers black and gold.

Checked out the RaceTech site and ordered some new springs for the forks and shock to handle my light ass.  Was able to back out the pre-load as much as possible which helped but wasn't able to do much other than that as the fork and shock springs are too stiff.

whats up with the clutch cover?  looks like that automotive undercarriage rubber spray.

Nice s2r8  waytogo  I'll be disassembling mine for more powdercoating and suspension upgrades this winter, as well.

Gettin around to cleaning up the brake/clutch lines.

My question for those who can help, with 848 master cylinders, Brembo goldline calipers and 999 forks, do I just do I need to get custom lines for the proper length or can I just go with 999 brake and clutch lines?

There are some differences.

The 999 brake lines have a 90 degree banjo fitting at the master. It means that the line will point straight down and will be difficult to route 'hidden' through the rear of the headlight, as stock.

At the 999 caliper, the banjos are almost straight.

So, 999 lines does not fit very well.

You need lines with an almost straight master banjo and 90 degree caliper banjos if you want them to be routed as stock. There might be some stock lines that fit, but I don't know which ones. Custom lines, maybe black, gold or yellow would look nice, don't you think? They can be made with a rotating banjo/line fitting which can be a welcome feature to allow easy routing.

and custom lines are not all that expensive... I get mine from Spiegler USA - I actually need to order another line shortly since I've changed my rear caliper setup.

Got these from the mail lady

Tank has been shipped to European Motorcycles in Pittsburgh for caswell coating and the quat-d exhaust has been sent to Figure Engineering to be ceramic coated.
