FIT? yes...work....no...not without serious work retrofitting a dryclutch complete set-up into your machine.

there's an inner seal on the dry clutch side cases that doesnt obviously exist on the wet clutch case AND the clutch isn't made to match up.
that's the technical reason ... but if you were going to switch to a dry clutch side case, why bother sealing it back up again?

And not without the serious cost to go with it. And BTW the cover on a dry clutch isn't 100% sealed anyway. There's a small gap at the bottom as a drain

sorry guys, maybe i should explain a bit better. i was looking at polishing one and i did not want to polish mine incase i dont like it. id rather keep my near perfect condition cover as is and polish another. im finding it hard to find a wet clutch side cover to polish so was looking at the idea of using a dry clutch side cover, sealing it up and polishing it.
would it be possible use it on a wet clutch motor if i cut out the part of the cover behind the basket and then weld up the drain hole and seal the clutch cover? i ask this as it seems easier and cheaper to source dry clutch covers.
Cheers Clint

what are you searching under? i have been searching 'ducati clutch cover' 'monster clutch cover' 'ducati engine cover' and monster engine cover' and weeding through all the dry clutch covers. thats on us, uk and au ebays
today ive found the first wet clutch cover in the last two weeks!! ironically the day after i ask this question. and its too damaged to be polished.

i have seen them, the ebay and manufacturer only list the late model wet clutch engines as fitment, ie 696+, where as gotham cycles lists the early models too!?! but its still not the look i was after. i want the original cover polished.

just keep an eye out for a side case (also known as a clutch cover) for a 620 or 750 or whatever. they pop up all the time. or you could just sack up and do it to your own. if you don't like it, have it powdercoated black instead.
