Oil or battery acid eroding paint

I have a 2000 M750 and either battery acid or oil has gotten on my frame, tranny cover and the engine head.  It is eating through the paint on the tranny cover and on the frame.  I have tried brakleen (a whole can) and steel wool to try and remove it and it is being a stubborn bastard.  Any ideas on how I can get this crap off before it eats through any more of my bike?

I have had the same issue - you may want to check your battery and charging system.  My acid issue was caused by a bad  regulator pouring straight AC current into the battery.  Check the voltage across your battery while running and see if you get a steady proper DC voltage or wild jumping numbers caused by the failing regulator.  Also take a night ride and see if your headlight brightness is varying  with engine speed. 

I am sure some other people on here can give you a more accurate, technical explanation.

I got to went for a ride yesterday afternoon and my headlight definitely gets brighter the higher the engine revs.  Any sugggestions on where to look or what to look for to get this issue resolved?

I had the same problem with my 1999 M750.  Drain hose popped off the battery and it dibbled acid all on the head, fins, and frame.

It will, the question is how much brighter.  Put a volt meter across the battery.  Start the bike.  Are you reading more than battery voltage at idle (at least 1K RPM)?  13.5 - 14.5 volts at 3K RPM?  Less and you are undercharging.  More and you are overcharging.
