I got beat by my brother-in-law who rides an 07 hd night train.
It was roll on, from about 80 to 180km, I kept pace and started gaining at about 160 when I let up.

Yes, in the twisties I leave him way behind, that's where all the fun is anyhow.

I have both Ducati & HD.  Now I'm certain my Electra Glide wont do the same but it's still funny to hear this.  Surely this thread will get locked fast since there are so many haters.  :P
Can we thin the gene pool?

Well, he does have some mods and I'm stock. He's a hd mechanic and has it tuned perfectly, race tuner, air and pipes.
I have a stock S2r 800 minus pipes, probably hurting it a little.

I did, was spinning about 5000 rpm. We cracked them open and he gained about 2 to 3 bike lengths on me before I started realing him in.
I wonder if I was geared down a tooth if it would make a difference.

Never [evil]

1. I'd start at 6,500/7,000 revs

if I still didn't win....

2. I'd blame the crazy dog by the roadside .... 'wow, I almost hit that damn dog'

if my competitor didn't believe me

3. I'd lie about it on the forum

Could have been worse.  What if it was a Prius.  :-\

Either way, this is your best advise.

Yeah, once I hit 6500 rpm I started to pull on him.
I would have had him if that damn dog didn't start running for the road.

C'mon guys, a lot of us watch racing. Just remember some excuses, and modify them to fit your situation.

"I'd have taken you, but the suspension wasn't quite right. This naturally took me off-course into that large swarm of flies that were hovering above the road kill, which I then ran over, causing me to almost crash. By the time conditions on the road had improved you'd pulled quite a lead on me. Good job on taking advantage of this, and securing a victory despite not being at my level."
"If it weren't for our gallows humor, we'd have nothing to hang our hopes on."
