I just got the new spring installed on my 999 Showa shock to install on my S2R1k, and am getting ready to install it this week.  Has anyone had any issues w/ the k&n crankcase breather? Specifically, oil misting the rear tire? I assume no since people seem happy w/ the mod but wanted to check before moving forward.

Thanks

I've got a generic K&N type breather on my M750 with no issues.  I think it cost $8 at the local auto parts.

There's a rather long and contentious thread about the effects that going from the stock set up to a filter right on the breather has - if you want to read it all.

But, I've been running a filter directly on my breather of my 900 for a couple years now with no issues. it is another maintenance point with the occasional clean and re-oil. But that's a pretty minor item.

Same here
No issues.
I have heard that overfilling and or wheelies will cause problems.
I have a 900 also, with pod filters if that matters

No issues with oil mist on the rear tires.  Perhaps it was a bad reed valve on my bike when I did it, but on my old 620 when I did this mod the noise from the reed valve opening/closing became very apparent...it annoyed the hell out of me.  FYI
