Code:
MR16DDT – 1.6-liter Direct Injection Gasoline (DIG™) DOHC 16-valve turbocharged 4-cylinder engine

Horsepower – 188 hp @ 5,600 rpm

Torque – 177 lb-ft @ 2,000 – 5,200 rpm

While the little turbocharged 4 banger is neat, it doesn't even crack 200 hp. I don't see why they market this car as being sporty...it's just a small SUV with a "durr hurr" squinty face.

I just don't like ads (whatever they are promoting) that depict bikes or their riders in a bad way. I'm not touchy or sensitive. I have no problem with death, destruction, squirrel catapults, etc. But there was no reason to use bikes in this ad whatsoever. Who the hell said that the interior of that grunt box piece of shit cage looked like a motorcycle? Someone needs to get that ad agency off the crack pipe! bang head Roll Eyes make the beast with two backs Nissan.

Great commercial. It's not like motorcycles aren't taken out by cars etc in movies. It's just a make the beast with two backsing commercial.

Dear ***********:

Thank you for comments regarding the advertising clip for the Nissan JUKE you recently viewed on ‘YouTube’.

The advert you have made reference to in your recent email has been run by Nissan in Canada for the past 12 months as part of a fantasy-inspired promotional campaign.

We at Nissan Canada wish to advise you that the advertising campaign featuring fantasy-inspired digital videos was created exclusively for online audiences, to showcase the unique design and performance of the Nissan Juke, including the motorcycle-inspired design elements of the car.

The clips were purposefully created in a supernatural setting so as not to draw on the reality of reckless driving and its consequences, which Nissan would in no way wish to promote.

Please accept my apologies on behalf of Nissan for any distress that this advertising campaign may have caused you. I can confirm that the advert is being removed by Nissan Canada from its ‘YouTube Channel’ .

We appreciate you taking time to get in touch with us to share your concerns, and would like to assure you of our commitment to road safety for both drivers of our vehicles, and other road users and that Nissan do not condone or promote carless driving under any circumstances.

Sincerely yours,

Well plus side is the Yuppies that buy these things don't have any balls to do anything. I think the blacked out visor and a head nod at a stop light is enough to scare them off maybe a pointing finger will do the trick.  laughingdp

There's a huge difference from movies and comics to advertising and trying to sell someone your product.

How many movies show rape and/or murder in gruesome detail and it fits with the story? When things like that are shown in an appropriate context, it's more acceptable. That doesn't mean it should be used in advertising. Nissan just wants to show benefits of it's product. Those benefits shouldn't be hitting motorcyclists. Sorry, this is still bullshit.

Just wanted to make sure the right stereotypes are represented. Badass hooligans ride motorcycles. Rapists drive panel vans. Roadrage rednecks drive pickup trucks. Irresponsible phone talkin' yuppies drive SUV's and mini vans. Oh, and the good guys wear white cowboy hats.  Wink

so...who drives a Juke?.....

I know...greatly enlarged, but started out as small and furry rodents of varying type.....so you could say RUS's like from Princess Bride, only more modern....and yet something slightly different from the Hamsters that drive and pimp the Kia Soul!!!
