Depends. I would still buy a 916SP before the D16.

my uncle had one... it was gorgeous... and uhh... one time when he parked it at my old house... i uhhh... dropped it.  haha, he was kind of annoyed but eventually forgave me.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the air—these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

haha, yeah... i would have too...

i was around 14 at that point, he brought over the duc to leave it there for the weekend with specific instructions to not sit on it because of the automatically raising kickstand.  and i mean... c'mon... how was i not supposed to sit on it?  laughingdp

haha, there was no damage though, i caught it and sat there for like 5 min trying to lift it back up before it touched the ground.  i think in the end the adrenaline kicked in and i got it back up.  if it did touch the ground though... i think he would have killed me on the spot.  haha

I see the Panigale made the cover of Cycle World. I have to say that really the only thing that puts me off the look of the bike are the mirrors. No doubt more functional than past mirrors but they give it a touch of a Suzuki look. Blasphemy, I know. Journalists have been dissing the mirrors on the previous bikes for years as if they were some sort of major sin. Somehow I prefer form over function in this case. I've gotten used to the elbow tuck rear check on my 848.  Besides which, what's behind you is of little consequence anyway.  Dolph

Just saw one at the Long  Beach Moto Show.

Looks quite small.

Rear cylinder exhaust pipe 'loop' is egregious, but well camouflaged.

Unfortunately they had neither a naked engine or a naked bike to see the really tasty bits.

Not sure... a bit tough to judge as it was up on a podium all by itself.
They let folks up onto the podium, so you could view it normally, but no other bikes up at that level.

Compared to an 848:
The tail is minimal, as there's no exhaust.
Tank looks a good bit smaller.
No trellis, so that form/boundary isn't there.
