Here's something else to think about, insurance costs! I looked breifly at the SF this past spring when I bought my bike and was floored at the cost of insurance compare to other models.

Here's my comparison. I currently have a 2006 S4R Monster. 100/300 coverage in Liability/UnderIns/UnIns, with 100 Deductable comp, and 500 deductable in collision. I'm 25 with 1 ticket 2.5 years ago.

My S4R is $427 a year.

As of the quote I just got today to replace my S4R with a 2010 SF, $1904!

That's not a missprint, a $1477 per year increase! Now I know my S4R is not a 98 M900 but I would bet the farm your insurance will go up.

pretty hard to compare insurance costs between people though... like i said in my previous post, it only costs me $600 a year for my sfs with full coverage.  that's up $200 a year from my 796.

then again, i'm 33 with 0 tickets on my record since 2000.

Frederick, take a look at Radical Ducati if you've decided you're mainly lusting after the aggressive lines of the SF.
And the sugar fountain fairy swore so hard when she came to super-size that stale hope soybean; liiiike a homeless German woman. Who is this super-sizing spirit-crushing femme? And tell her I'll break a tree root up in her shrimp.

Being faster than you thought possible…it feels good. No, screw thatâ€"it feels like shotgunning a gallon of adrenaline and chasing it with an all-night orgy aboard a burning Viking boat.

Yeah...I have seen some of those bikes....I could not find anything for older Monster's like my 98', though. :-\
My people skills are just fine.
