on the weight issue. Are you sure the marchesini wheel weighs more then the enkei?  I tell you, When I lifthed the enkei to ship it out.. it felt heavier than the marchesini.

^I'm sure^

Cant comment on the front but the rear is heavier by ~2lbs.  Confirmed myself and 3 other sources.

Just a couple of large washers for spacing and a brake master shaft extend and it should be fine.  Thats what I had to do for mine.

All I had to do a was loosen the brake line a touch from the master to the caliper. That was on a M1100S, butt they should be the same. I got lucky and the set that I got was complete.

What about the rear brake reservoir any issues mounting there ?
Where do I get a longer brake master shaft from or did you fab it Anchorism
Would apreciate a close up photo of them on a 696 if anyone has any.

Then I will let normal progaming on this thread resume  Grin

I just used a bolt that fit just right for it.  As for the reservoir I need to cut the tube down but other than that it worked for me on the original spot. I've got a 696 in the garage but still have chicken wings on it.  The wife doesn't let me change much on her ride lol.

Sooo..... It is now time to dig this thread out of the grave.  First off.... if you really want the black ones, i just may be interested in trading..... Let me know.  I know this was a LONG time ago.  Other than that, thanks to my wife for a VERY early Fathersday gift and to Raux for the brackets, my bike is back!  Got some headlight brackets in the mail put on,  the new battery in, the tank all back together and now the wheels are off to get new rubber on thursday!  She is still in need of an oil change, valve adjustment, redo of the exhaust wrap and a severe BATH.  Here are the pics of this weekends progress.
