Any input?

Pool party at Ducky's.

Haha.  Just kidding.  He'll throw a fit if everyone shows up.

Being a fireworks fanatic, I desperately want a good spot to watch the fireworks display for the 4th. It makes sense for me then, to stick around home base that day since all of the downtown and Montrose area will be a huge clusterf*ck.

If there is enough interest, I wouldn't mind hosting something at my place. I'm pretty sure fireworks can be seen from my apt's rooftop but I'll have to scoop it out and also see if I can reserve a space down at the pool (it's a free for all and I'm guessing will get pretty crowded, espec the grills). Although if anything, we could bring my grill down to the pool from my balcony. Me thinks i've said this before, but any bikes can park in my garage for free np (sorry, not cars). If anything, we could use this as a base to walk over to the Bayou (about a 5 min walk to Sabine promenade) for anyone that is interested in the fireworks.

I'm in the process of moving though so my actual loft is a war zone.

and for all you single boys, the crowd at my pool is usually well....lets just say it has a few things up on the better looking of the crowd at Onion Creek.

Lemme know if people are interested and I'll try to get something together :-)

where is this all happening?  i will be in austin on lake travis (volente area) all weekend from the 3rd-5th or 6th.  i wanna see a couple other monsters, as the only ones ive seen are one crappy one here in my town or at a dealership.  im terrible with austin, but if i have directions i can get just about anywhere.  or if we wanna do something at my place out there im sure that could happen.  we have plenty of land and all the roads out there are pretty fun.

There's a couple of austin people in the board, They just have to be "encouraged" to speak up. Maybe you should start an austin specific thread for a get together and I'm sure you'll get more input.

There's bulletboy who just got back into Austin, he has a badass ratmonster, there's factor, I know Murduc Now known as DUDE is a stone's throw away as well.

Ooooor, If you have nothing else to do, I'm pretty sure one of us here will more than gladly have a spare bedroom for ya :)

No access to terrace at RISE anymore. B*stards! Potential sweet view from top of Parking Garage which is always abandoned but me thinks I'll just head on over to the Bayou and mingle with the masses. How many fireworks does anyone think I could successfully light on a rooftop in midtown before being arrested?  [evil]

Any and all are welcome to park their bikes in my garage and walk over to Sabine St. promenade for the festivities.

If the crowd isn't your thing, let's all meet-up for at least a few beers during the day, right?

Hey Lu, is this your first July 4th where you currently live?

I'm just asking 'cause I lived in the complex called Siena, on Allen Pkwy & Studemont. Every 4th of July the roof top parking area was prime real estate. Tenants and guests camp out early by blocking parking slots with cars, trucks, chairs, coolers even grandma on her rocking chair. Whatever they could place to save a spot to gain a birds eye view of the event below. I always enjoyed that event at that complex.

I double-dog dare you to light off some on that rooftop.

And no pansy-ass fireworks either like black snakes or sparklers.

We want M-80's.

Done deal. You supply the fireworks and I'll light 'em. I'm practicing my "look innocent" face already  [evil]

ps. M-80's haven't been legal in the States since I was 12. Time to join modern times, old man. Then again, if you can manage to procure some through other means.....

I would say roman candles and rockets... but ok...

aren't fireworks illegal in city limits? haha [laugh]
