I just bought a 2002 M620, in really good shape.  Changed the battery, i have lights but the bike is dead as a door knob.  I get no clicking no norhting out of the engine, just lights.

Any ideas?  I checked fuses etc..., possibly the starter?  The bike hasnt ran in two years.

Thanks, :-\

Any idiot lights?  If there's no idle indicator (green) than it won't turn over.

If it hasn't started for two years I would be checking a few things before you do if you haven't already.

Belts don't like sitting in the one position for extended periods
Drop the oil and filter for new stuff
Check the intake for any unwanted inhabitants
Pull the plugs and check and wouldn't hurt to squirt a small amount of oil in the cylinders

When you find out what the starting issue is make sure you have oil pressure before firing it up.

Just my two cents and might save some headaches later on.  [thumbsup]

also check to make sure the white 2 pin connector is pushed into the starter solenoid.

This also sounds stupid, but is the kickstand up ?

My 2001 M750 will not attempt to start unless you have the kickstand in the up position.

On the outskirts of nowhere on a real road to somewhere in the face of indecision I'll always take the round-about way......... Marillion

unless you have done a kickstand bypass modification...which is a valid point to bring up if it is a bone stock bike that hasn't been modified.

it was the kick stand.  Put the kick stand up and it started like a champ.

I bought the bike off a guy that was selling it for someone else that had moved back overseas, so he had no idea about the bike.  Long story short i shaved 2k off his asking price, because it wouldnt start. [beer]

I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

CONFIDENCE: the feeling you have right before you understand the situation.

.....change the belts as mentioned previously.  They're $100ish and there are some good videos if you want to Do It Yourself.  A broken belt is no bueno.
