Anybody out there know if there's a DSS which would bolt up to a Hypermotard?

(Disregarding exhaust interference).

I've got a steel one you can have if you think you can make it work.  Shipping is at your cost.

i think the HYM has the slimcase ie bearing in the swingarm. so yes, likely only the 999

talk to duckstew if he is using the swingarm from me.

Thanks for the offer.  At this stage I'm just harbouring evil thoughts..... throwing some ideas around.....  it may come to nothing..... or I may have to sleep in the doghouse  laughingdp Evil.

So a 999 swingarm is the popular thought?  Any further bids?

Cheers  chug.

I love riding my Monster on the black stuff.   I love riding my DR650 on the dirt roads.  Wouldnt it be nice if if there was a real Ducati "dual sport"?   Evil.

yep confirmed, HYM has slim SBK-style case
999 swingarm is best candidate.

um... not really..... that one's a bit more mono sport  Undecided.

I'd like a Duc that's dirt capable.  The stock Hyper is a fun machine, but its not really anything more than a cool road hooligan.  The Multi is a bloated cafe latte ADV wannabe that nobody would wanna scratch in the muck.

Hyper seems like a good place to start..... although I'd have to find a bent one first.

The HYM with dual sport tires, DSS for strength (you'll want the later model year 999 swingarm) and solid bash pans would be a lot of fun.

999 swingarm *may* work, but suspension rocker-arm is in the wrong position (I think...).

What I recommend:  Multistrada 620 swingarm.  It's a steel DSS that fits a narrow engine case and since that arm fits a Multi frame, it will fit the Hyper frame as well.

25mm axle, DSS, so you'll need an appropriate wheel.  Hell, the exhaust may still fit up!

There have been Monster conversions before. This one comes to mind http://www.bikeexif.com/ducati-terra-mostro. More off-road than dual-sport... but not by much.
