I understand not personally wearing what some folks decide to do, and I'm an overgeared on the street kind of guy, but why do people care so much when others don't do the same.

So don't ride with them.

But to have an urge to do something that would hurt them?  Or to hope they crash?  That's kind of make the beast with two backsed up.

Well, they do drive our insurance rates up.   :-\

Live and let die, right? We are free to choose our fate. Its when their (squidly) actions affect others that things get fudged up.

I don't wish ill on anyone. Eventually numbnuts like them are going to donate some skin anyway, so I don't spend my time plotting ways that I can hurt them. I wouldn't necessarily call it an urge to hurt them either, obviously I didn't and I didn't even come close to it.

My hope is that they do end up donating a bit of skin, because that will (maybe) get them to ride smarter. When one dude is turned around looking behind him and not paying attention to the road, he risks drifting into MY lane and hitting MY car. Or causing an accident with someone else's car and blocking traffic, making my commute even longer. That is the reason for my frustration.

Depends on the size... and what direction it's pointed. [laugh] [laugh]

Where's that "ban yourself" thread.....

Red 748 in Seattle.  Dude had on running shorts, tee, and running shoes.

Running shorts are not good for motoring.  My eyes still hurt... :-X

Running shorts are never good, especially if you have pasty white thighs.

The gear thing doesnt really bother me as much as excessive speeding 100+ or stunting on freeways.  Those actions make cagers hate us, they dont give a shit if you wear a t-shirt and flip flops.

Running shorts are not good when you can see up the leg    [puke]

On an unrelated note, 2 F-18 just went screaming by!

You think that looks bad, imagine seeing me in the bathroom mirror at 5 am!

Skin grafts were easily the most miserable thing I have ever experienced, got them from a pedestrian accident.  I would never wish that ill on anyone.  If they had half a clue they'd throw some stuff on.  Hell, the strawberries you get from sliding on your hip are miserable enough.  You would think that would be enough.

I mean really, I have pretty well beaten myself up pretty bad over the years and skin grafts making everything else seem like a stubbed toe.

... I'm totally cool with my friends saying "You remember when William bit it?!  That was awesome!  How do you explode in a fireball while being crushed under a waterfall?!  I don't think I'll beat that..."

NAKID

The site they grafted skin from hurt almost as much as the area that needed the graft in the first place...

I saw a guy yesterday on a kawiyamasuki in full leathers including knee sliders but no helmet or gloves in sight. Had a nice pair of shades too. I guess he just wears it for the image.

Ok, so this just freaked me out.  Yesterday when I walked the mail out for work I heard a bike down the way,  I looked and saw a guy and girl on this bike.  Both wearing shorts and flip flops.  At least the guy had a helmet on
( I guess the girlfriends head was not important enough)  Anyway as I get closer the girl had gotten off and gone into DES. The guy circles the lot and comes back to get her.  By this time I was close enough to them to see what they really looked like, the girl came walking out of DES and guess what,   SHE WAS PREGNANT [bang] [bang] She was as big as a house and looked about ready to pop.   This just freaked me out.  No helmet, wearing shorts and flip flops, Pregnant and getting on this bike.  I don't get it.  Is it just me being overly protective?  I wanted to say something to them but by the time I got up next to them they took off.    I shudder to think of this girl flying off this bike and not only hurting herself but her little one inside.  I just don't get people sometime.  IDIOTS

Rameses

Yesterday I saw two guys riding (separate instances) wearing full-face helmets, jackets, gloves, shorts, and sneakers.

Guess that skin on the legs and their ankles weren't as important as the rest of their bodies.   [roll]

+1 on this...sheer hell, and the cleaning is just straight torture!  I have had many pains in my life...even in the sensitive area (lots o stitches!)...and this pain trumps them all!
