Finally.....

Tomorrow AM, I go in for a job interview. Some of you know that I've been looking for a job in Knoxville for almost a year now with no luck whatsoever. Just happened to cruise thru Craigslist Thurs night and ran across the ad. I sent in a brief resume Fri AM and got the call this evening. Chatted w/ the manager for about 30-45 minutes on the phone. She said that they usually wouldn't consider someone that lives so far away (about 75 minutes), but she couldn't pass up someone with my level of experience. She also said out of something like 50 applicants, I was the only person that followed the directions and sent all the information she wanted.  It amazes me that people are really that stupid. :-[

The cool thing is, it looks like my shitty, horrible choice of a career might actually start to pay off. The pay is somewhere between 2-3 times what I make now AND I'll still be able to keep my current clients (I'm a contractor) and do my own thing when I want.  [clap]

Anyhoo, I'd appreciate any spare good vibes/thoughts/prayers ya'll have lying around. I'm terrified that I'm either gonna oversleep, get lost, or fark up the interview in a bad kinda way. And I can't stress how much I really, really need this job. It'll easily allow me to go back to school, which is my main goal in life right now, and maybe put a bike or two in the garage. Jeebus, I just hope I can get to sleep.

Good vibes sent.

Because of the time difference (from Oz), I sent them the day before I read your post, so that they'll arrive on time.  [thumbsup]

Some people are like Slinkies. They're really good for nothing; however, they can still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

I'm in! I got the offer on the way out the door. Gotta go in tomorrow AM for some more paperwork and the piddle test. Will start part-time on a 30-day probation, so they can assess my skill set. I'll go full-time in about 60 days or so, after I finish a few projects I'm currently on.

I'm gonna celebrate just a wee bit w/ some of this:  [wine]
