ID this link type, clip or rivet.

So, I thought I had a clip style master, the bag even has the warning for the clip style not being as strong as a riveted type.  However, I didn't have a clip in the bag, and there is no indention on the posts for a clip.  The outer link plate won't seat past the very edge of the post, you can see the bevel on the edge of the post in pic two.

Is this a clip or rivet?  I don't have a rivet tool, so I'm stuck for the moment if it is rivet.  I'll have to either find a clip master at a local dealer or buy the rivet tool to finish.

***NOT trying to start a debate on rivet v. clip.  I've use clip for several chains and never had a problem and don't plan on change anytime soon.

Make sure to get a DID master of the same model.

Other brands and other DID models aren't necessarily the same pin diameter.

This is a VX2, which seems to be fairly common, so hopefully that won't be a problem.

same thing happened to me, but opposite.  Said rivet and it was clearly a clip.  Ours must've been boxed next to each other.

More of a pity he's not near you as that'd mean he was near me - and I have 3 520VX2 clip links from a Melbourne motorcycle establishment when I ordered 3 520VX2 rivet links. Use them on the gf's RGV250 race bike. Clips are ok, I can deal with lockwiring them, but I prefer rivets... so an opportunity to swap a clip for a rivet would have been excellent.
