It finally happened - I fell over

It's been a long time since I've posted here, but today I went on a short run to the drug store to grab some cough syrup. When I hit the kickstand up for the return trip, my right leg slid on some oil and I dropped my bike.
Fortunately, the frame slider did it's thing. Always wear your gear.

I'm glad it wasn't worse
What kind of lever do you have on there now? Buy similar or modify with different ones?

..........
I haven't looked at parts in about three years, when I finished modding mine.
So, you weren't quite finished

You were. That's when these things happen..doing things that don't take much thought. Make sure you get that elbow looked. My shoulder is still sore 12 months later from my low-speed off.

I was just about to start a new thread on me falling this weekend but I figure I will join you here!
Went to the doctor's to get an allergy shot on sat. Came out and as I was going down the hill in the parking lot, there was a pretty long oilish streak that I completely did not see nor did think it was oil as it just looked like dirt. At the bottom of the hill was the exit to the right. Slight turn of my bars and the front just completely tucked. Frame sliders took the hit as well as my right napoleon mirrors. Glad it wasn't more serious.
Worst part was falling right at the entrance to the building as well as the roadway.

I did the same thing (foot slipped while deploying sidestand) years back with my Honda F4 but the end result was a bit nastier. My left leg was pinned under the bike after the fall, no one was around of course, so I had to pull by leg out from underneath the bike while pushing it up as much as I could from the ground. The foot peg ended up taking a nice long gash out of my shin and I was left with a twisted and bruised knee. Consider yourself lucky!

Wanna feel lots better? Years ago on Wilshire Blvd. I walked out of an appointment and as I was about to get on my bright red F2 a drop dead gorgeous redhead (replete with red dress and red heels) walked up to me and started chatting me up. I guess she like red motorcycles and men in leather because she said she would "do anything" to ride on the back of my bike and asked for my phone number. I am not kidding when I say this was the hottest woman that ever went after me in the shortest time. I knew where a little ride in the hills would lead.
Well I went to pull out of there a little fast and realized............................Wait for it.............................. The disc lock was still on the front wheel. Needless to say I tossed the bike into the street and she never called. True story.
Feel better about tipping it over now?

Yes, the old catapult. I did that in my driveway. However, the bike doing the catapulting was a 650lb Suzuki GS1150ES. I rolled to the neighbor's yard.
Glad no major damage though, I should get some sliders for mine.

That is the crappiest story I've ever heard! I mean, crappiest of luck. Damn those locks. I think that's why I never got one. I would totally forget about it one day too...
