Fishtale trackday @ NHIS 7/3/08

Hey all,
Me and a few friends did a Fishtale trackday at NHIS yesterday so I thought I would share a few pics.
Here is me and my friend Mike battling it out in the bowl (turn 6)
Here is me on the next lap.....hey, where'd Mike go??
This one is a little further through the turn.
I'm not really sure where this one was taken, but pretty good shot none the less.
I don't think it's a great idea to bring the S2R to the track again..... not quite enough clearance to avoid dragging hard parts!
The tires got a little warm!
Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed the pics. It was a great time and a big thanks to Dr. Desmosedici for getting us a great group rate and taking care of all the logistics.

If you get off your bike a bit more, you won't grind as much. The ideal is to have your outside knee hooked on the seat so only your thigh is on the pad and get your head where your mirrors would be. It's good that you're not afraid of lean angle, though.
I'd love to do a track day on a Monster. If you're looking at a dedicated track bike, you can probably pick up an SV for cheap. They're more common than the cockroach.

Thanks for the pointers. I am getting more and more comfortable with hanging off the bike. I have only done a few track days and I think I'm doing ok so far.
The instructor at Fishtale told us to have the crack of our asses on the edge of the seat so thats what I was doing. I do agree that I need to be a bit more off the bike though and I'll try that next time.

That's what they tell riders and hope
some
will actually do it before they scrape hard parts.
You were moving at a fast B pace.
Make believe you're a monkey.

I was moving at a fast B pace? Wow, thanks Nate! And only my second track day.
Next time I plan to get a little more off the seat to see if I can avoid scraping the hard parts and actually get my knee down.
There's another Fishtale day coming up soon and I may sign up for.

You looked good 'Mash.
There's always someone faster.
FTR...
I never scraped anything except my toes on the monster....
and my knees.
It can be done.

It's sooo easy to scrape toes/knees at a trackday...almost childs play.
oh wait...I was actually off the bike when that happened....(along with a bruised ego)

Thanks TiNi!
Next year at DIMBY I'm going to try and get my knee down while I'm on the horse!

Looks like you had a blast!
Maybe some aftermarket rearsets will help you reduce some grinding. I have yet to scrape any metal parts on my S2R at the track or canyons after I installed Sato rearsets. But then again, I will need to lean the bike a bit more.
