Boring story behind this, but the gist of my post is this... I have a nice rear Pit Bull stand for ThelmaLou's bike. Unfortunately the stand is equipped for spools only. Her bike doesn't have spools. So... Do I?: 1) look to swap the mounts on stand with ones with the rubber pegs? 2) look to trade my stand for someone who has the combo or rubber pegs? 3) buy spools and drill and tap the swing arm on her M600 so I can use the stand? The sage expert opinions/advice of the LSD hooligans is appreciated? Thanks, - Jim

I'd pick #1, but change it to the combo pegs. That way you can keep your stand for any bike in the future.

What he said (#1, combo). Saves you from drilling the swingarm.

I put spools on my M620 when I had it. It was really easy to do

Get the two way Pit Bull adapters. I've got like seven Pit Bull stands of various types... even the Sport1000 stand. The ones with the two way adapter are very versatile and beats the hell out of drilling and tapping the s/arm. I saw some at Cycle Gear in Plano hanging on the wall when I met Andre a couple of weeks ago. Is there one out your way? Cheap and easy.

I've looked at both Cycle Gear's in Tarrant county and neither had them (adapters) in stock.

I know it's a lot of trouble for me to go to a motorcycle shop/accessory store but I'll work up the courage and make the sacrifice for the team if needed. [moto]

The Pitbull stand I had was the combo one, it worked great.
The reason I put spools on it was because I had the bike on the rear stand for about a week while I was waiting for tires/exhaust last spring. During that week, I noticed that the pegs had slid up the swingarm a few inches and the bike slowly coming back down to earth. I'm sure if I had cleaned the bottom of the swingarm before I used the stand it probably wouldn't have moved. Better safe than sorry, the spools are rock solid and make lifting the bike a breeze. YMMV

Ultimately, I'd really just like to have this... But I was in ML a few days ago and didn't see any hanging up with all the other Pit Bull accessories. Maybe I overlooked them. I'd prefer to just pick up local instead of buy off the InterWeb.
