After months of fighting with ohlins my new kit finally arrived! Just put it on, and went to turn the key... nothing. No Problem, says I. Attach the charger!  No.

Battery is so dead that the charger doesn't even register that it is a battery. voltmeter gets nothing either. Time for new battery!

Where do you get yours? Any brand you love? Help?

Sounds like a good opportunity to convert it to kickstart!

When mine dies I'll be all over a ballistic li battery.  Doesn't leak, experiences very little charge loss at rest and is much lighter.  Total win in my book.

+1 I've had a Ballistic on mine for something like 11 months now and it's been awesome. Never had it on a charger since.

I second the Shorai. I have it on my S2R1000. Never had a problem getting it to start. A little more expensive than Yuasa but over 6lbs lighter...

I've had one of these for a couple of years, no problems

http://www.motobattbatteries.com/motobatt-mbt12b4.html

I too have been running a motobatt. No problems at all.
Just be careful installing. The "universal" quality of this battery â€" the fact that it has two sets of terminals â€" unfortunately allowed me to install it backwards.
Fried the starting circuit of my ECU...

Obviously this is MY FAULT, and not the battery's... but if I had purchased a non-universal YUASA, It wouldn't have happened.

That being said, the Motobatt works perfectly.

I like my Shorai but it took 2 tries to get a non-dud. Customer service was amazing about sending out the replacement. So cute and light...makes the OEM look like such a pig I couldn't stand to go back. Buy it at Leatherup.com, you can use the 15% off coupons they regularly have floating around (Google)

never buy lithium battery, they are not ready for the market. (I have bad experience with them now)

It is balistic that was mentioned above. Red 8 cell battery. Voltmeter was showing 12-13V at delivery but it was not able to start engine. Had to charge it first time(ads says it is ready to use after purchase). 3 month later(now) it can not start engine with 13V shown on dashboard. Have to recharge this shit. My old 4 y.o. lead-acid battery was good and never need to recharge even after 5month winter, I just wanted something modern. It was bad idea.
