No, the contrast is good. Be careful not to get too matchy matchy.

I'm thinking about coating my Pantah valve covers red.

I just meant that with the bucket and the mounts in CF it might look too matchy matchy. I think the contrast between the CF bucket and the steel mounts makes the headlight stand out more.

I originally thought that as well, then I saw them together on a Motowheels project bike and thought it looked superb. If you look up their "custom LED headlight" you'll see what I mean. In any case I found a new pair of CF brackets on ebay I was gonna nab for cheap but I snoozed and missed out on sniping em.  bang head

   I just took this gorgeous NOS oil cooler...

And did this to it:

I feel kinda bad but it had to be black.

Don't feel bad. It was meant to be black.

I'm waiting until something on my bike breaks and I can degrease mine and do the same thing.

I'm loving that billet hoop. How do the dimensions on that one compare to the original piece ? After a while on mine I noticed my header pipe rubbing the hoop. Easy fix though. That's the only thing that's stopped me from getting one of those.

Grubby; you want to know the difference in width, not added height, right?

If it's clearance for your exhaust, 8.79 mm at the widest point, and the same additional amount of depth. Where that "boxiness" above the rose/heim joints begins is the difference.

Used engine paint that claimed to have ceramic in it, seemed like a good choice for an aluminum oil cooler. I've read that baking it an a 150 deg oven for an hour or so then letting it remain untouched until cooled down would yield good results;

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out! the speechless expression on my woman's face when she opened the oven was fun too Tongue. The oven curing seemed to make it significantly glossier, and much tougher too!

Seeing the billet hoop on the freshly PC swingarm in photos made me realize how inappropriate the old zinc plated rod ends were, so I've remedied this with some new stainless ends:

not wanting to make a stupid comment, but wouldn't a paint with ceramic in it be more of an insulator?

Just going by what the can says;

"Dupli-ColorĀ® Engine Enamel contains Ceramic Resins for maximum heat dissipation" whatever that means.

I'll keep an eye on the oil and engine temp tho, thanks for reminding me.

Not necessarily wrong, It's not like it'll be good for cooling...just hoping it doesn't hinder it any more than a negligible amount. I didn't coat the fins heavily, just a light dusting.

I was just thinking the same as Brad about the ceramic, and you about those rose joints. Much cleaner all stainless!
