Yup, it's supposed to sound like that....

I do have the right hand kill switch from a Panigale, similar to Kopfjäger's here:

But you're right about the left switch...when I found a NOS one it made perfect sense at the time, and being fresh and new it certainly helps, but I do feel a bit of regret...it really is BIG.

Any suggestions? Problem is if I get something else it would have to look ok with the Panigale switch else I'd be looking at replacing both. The matching left switch looks fantastic but it won't work, uses latching relays and I don't have the brain power to figure it out.

Really being inspired by this built. How hard was it to wire up a Panigale switch to a Monster? The connecting points look different.

The panigale switch is cool, but still super wide and bulky.. If I ever changed switches, it'd be for something slimmer so I have more space on my controls.

I got some more stuff back from powder coating but this time I used a local company and the results were pretty meh. The stuff he coated black was "acceptable" but my expectations were high because of how good Bonehead Performance was. Kinda bumpy here and there. But the main problem was he screwed up the gas cap flange and the Bevel valve covers, so I asked him to just blast em for me, and he only charged me $50 for the belly pan + brackets, swingarm end caps,  brake hose guide, and some other junk.

The belly pan is gonna look sweet with the matching fender..

Here you can see where a buddy of mine cut out the "license plate" light section of the Competition Werkes bracket and rewelded it as I have an all in one tail light.

The end caps I'm pretty stoked on...they look slick with the black swingarm and stainless button head screws fixing them to the slider blocks. I'll use small serrated stainless washers when I assemble everything and hope they don't loosen up! Or get the Lightech M8×90 full thread flange nuts...

I was a bit bummed I didn't get back some nice Ducati (Red Baron) red valve covers and since I'm impatient decided to have a go at spray painting them...the Rustoleum silver high heat paint looked to be a very good match for the "Bengal Silver" powder on my barrels. I'm actually pretty stoked at how they came out and am glad I didn't end up with red!

The rattle can instructions told me to bake them 3 times so I hope this works out...

Having this klownhole of a coater screw up the flange was the real kick to the nuts...I used the same engine paint as I used on the oil cooler 'cept I laid it on thick and cured it at 200 degrees for an hour then 400 degrees for a half hour. It looks pretty crappy but I'm hoping I can buff it out...the can claims it's resistant to solvents...I'm pretty skeptical espec since it's a GAS cap flange but like I say I'm impatient...

Those, Motogadget (I have one as the starter button on my Bandit) and Pingel all make small but expensive switches.

I'm sure there are others.

I think Stu used the Pingel switches on Spidey's grey Monster.  The Pingel switches are thinner than the Motogadget switches.

I did.  Bike needed 4 switches to do it all and they were $125 each...  So, uh, yeah...

Does anyone know the name and address of whoever engineered that rubber seal between the gas cap flange and tank?   Angry

Put the flange in just a tiny bit shy of 'all the way'.

Then you can persuade the gasket in.

Then finish installing the flange.

I was able to get it 98% with that advice, thanks SD. At first I was trying to go at an offset, tightening down one set screw at a time but that wasn't going to work. I had to have it seated evenly all the way around where each screw could tighten up against the rim to hold it in place then coax it on. There is one little "wrinkle"...maybe later I'll get anal enough to fix it and have another go but not right now.

These switches look good on the internets... but I've never seen them in person.

I don't know yet, I've messaged the seller.

I'm trying to wrap my brain around the concepts of exhaust scavenging and the need (or lack of) for some kind of crossover within. I guess RR must have had a reason for this odd design, but all of the anecdotal forum info I come across says this exhaust is not good for power (which I can attest to) and it needs to be "gutted" for best results. "Best" meaning what tho? I always felt like this thing did a nice job on my 750 at the low and mid range so I don't want to sacrifice any of that grunt chasing more peak power. I also don't mind a loud exhaust obviously, but as loud as this thing is already I can't even imagine having nothing inside.

Hopefully some exhaust gurus will chime in?

Not an exhaust guru but the dyno runs on my M900/FCRs with the RR vs Galasetti 2/1 back you up. A few more HP/Ft/lbs low and midrange and a few less on top. As I generally ride between 3500-6,000K rpm I like the RR.

Quote
I'm thinking of straight perforated tubes with a fiberglass packing wrapped around it, and new tips like the ones pictured with a spark arrestor grill.

Have you measured the RR cans?  They're 3". I found out the hard way. :cry.

Lots of Harley related baffles/end caps online. Looking to fab a new setup. If I can lose a few db and not compromise back pressure, I'll be ecstatic.
