I actually wish I'd gone with the plastic pee cups.
Have you seen the new pee cups? Smoked, shiny see through plastic, but traditional shape

Yep, I think those were available in Europe before here in the U.S. Not sure if they're available at all here yet but they're pretty cool. Would look nice and classy with a set of billet Oberon lids. Anyone wanna buy my STM reservoirs?
j/k...I hunted those bad boys for months before landing a set in black.

I'm in no particular rush right now as my machinist still has my exhaust and dash, and something a little interesting dawned on me while I was fiddling around the garage. I have absolutely no idea how much time I have in this build, how I'd estimate it if I had to do it all over with all the parts in boxes in front of me. Most days I go in the garage, turn on my mp3 player, and dick around for anywhere from 2-9 hours and a good chunk of that is zoning out, walking around the bike, staring at it..looking for lost tools, taking something apart I'd already assembled to either re-do it or get it out of the way of something else I need to do..running out to buy a tool I don't have, etc. And some things like routing the loom and fuel lines and rejetting the carbs I am purposely deliberate and can make 2 days of it, just not being in a hurry and wanting it to be perfect. I wouldn't be surprised if I had well over 100 hours in this thing. And the confidence I now have, starting with a bare frame, engine, and boxes of parts halfway up the wall and 2 dozen bins full of stainless hardware is priceless. Used to be I'd want to call a friend or pay someone any time something went wrong no matter how simple and now I feel like I could strip the thing down to the motor and reassemble on the side of the road. It's a pretty cool feeling.
All I did today was wire up the TPO kickstand bypass switch and make clamps for the vacuum and fuel hoses with my Clamptite (fantastic tool btw). Now the bike is ready to start and idle as it should have come from the factory; in neutral on the sidestand, and cut off if put in gear. (Been riding over 20 years and I still take off with the side stand down.

Time adds up when you're trying to get something just right and it takes 3 or 4 tries of little variations to get something just right.

Progress....
Installing the exhaust was possibly the most miserable experience yet. My fingers and knuckles are destroyed and on top of it all I realized too late I'd forgotten my exhaust gaskets. And now my kickstand doesn't fit properly. I sure as hell hope those gaskets aren't mandatory because I do NOT want to do that again.
My carbon dash bracket turned out awesome

Yes is did. Good on ya for that one, matches the headlight bucket nicely. That sprocket cover is sweet too, simple.

I don't know about your header, but I did the same with my spark header and it was leak city.

I put together my 750 exhaust with no gaskets and it was fine. Maybe I'll be able to kinda slide the headers back and stick em in there. I'm telling you this exhaust was a straight up mothermake the beast with two backser to install and I don't wanna start over. It sucked bad.

Nope, stands out way too much. Your build though. We already discussed that headlight.

Thanks dude
.
I do still love the look of the classic headlight, but this TL grows on me more and more every day. Especially how it plays with my Vizi-Tec HSi. Can't wait to shoot a vid and take a proper photoshoot of the finished bike. And ride the damn thing.
