my tank is leaking and I have not found someone to repair it so I need to replace it
I found this : http://www.ebay.com/itm/2000-on-Ducati-Monster-900ie-FUEL-INJECTED-58610312AE-metallic-blue-NOS-gas-tank-/161255784408?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item258b97ffd8&vxp=mtr
and am hoping it will fit my bike
I know there was a seat mounting change in early 2000 and am not sure if the seat cut out on the tank is the same for this tank compared to my 2002
hope someone can let me know

thanks in advance  [thumbsup]

2000 and up steel tanks have the same cutout for the seat.

93-99 shared the other style.

Seat cut-out: Same from 2000 to 2008.

Under tank sheetmetal around the battery: 2000 to 2001 2V bikes: Same.  BUT: 2002 to 2005 (last of the steel tanks): Different.

In 2002 when the battery got moved from it's old vertical position to the horizontal position above the vertical cylinder head, it necessitated a change in the sheet metal for the lower tank stamping.  They will NOT interchange w/o battery relocation, possible wiring changes and maybe even an airbox change (if that's possible).

The 02 750 was a one year deal with the FI.

Did they go to the horizontal mounted battery?

Yes and it was a horizontal battery.  1 year only w/the 5.9ecu and 750 motor.
