Nothing like the sound of a Ducati!

« on: December 06, 2014, 01:09:24 PM »

I checked this bike out yesterday. It was filthy, needs the tank repainted. Has good tyres, Termi's and race ecu. Udder has been removed too.

The guy owns Megacycles in Bowral. Seemed like a decent fellow.

Any thoughts?

Merry Christmas and hi to everyone!

Very nice. Looking at the garage, how tidy it is and the gear the guy has i'd say it's been well cared for.

Still on the fence Don. How ya been mate?

Just thinking of the hassles of doing shims. Still sort of thinking a 900 injected bike would be better or even a 1000DS.

The price is right though.

I've been great Rob.
At that price it is hard to say no, and it's a great colour.
How much harder are the 4v shims to do, I've only ever had a go at the m1000 2v

The 1000Ds is a whole lot easier compared to the Desmoquatro. There is also the factor of flaking rockers too. I do love the colour.....though would prefer the 1000 as they are brutal in power delivery and they sound awesome.

What happened you may ask ?
I bought Bwiiiiiiiiiiiians old  S4R forks, usual story ..........only used on Sundays driven by an old lady too church
serviced regulaly  Roll Eyes ended up they were a couple of 2 x 4's made in china from packing crates .

At great expense they have been shipped to Mexico for a complete re birth .
The rest of the (award winning ) waytogo bike is top notch.

Glad to hear everything is going well with the old girl Des. I must say the Showa front end on the bike was pretty good. Why the change?

Yeah, it's smee, Super. Yes, I'm in the market (again), and I'm totally confused.

I was interested in this bike, and other S4R's too, but I'm sorta put off having to stop for fuel every 140km.

No S2R 1000's for sale in NSW (from what I can see), don't think I wanna 800. Leaning toward a 1100s or EVO. Plus I think the new 821 is butt ugly.

Anyway, hi everyone.

Firstly, good to see you back in here Rob  !

Re Des's reason for buying my forks, I think it was that he preferred the nice gold bits on the legs. That didn't worry me as bling is not my scene, much prefer proven safety items.   waytogo
Also, he got mine for a steal plus Max bought his. Only cost him and extra $100 after the deal.
