Don’t give up. (Even though you have to take some time, you can fix your S2R, and, in the end, you will feel better.)

Realistically,

You can do the levers, yes. Get something that says “fold out” type, that something you like.

You can replace front fender all by yourself as well. There’s no hidden screws or anything. It is pretty straight forward.

You can NOT do the chain and sprocket “all by yourself”. Take a look at this thread. (It is S4R / S2R specific tutorial. I tried to make it as complete as possible, as easy to visualize the work for the first timers as possible. I also included some video reviews about chain tools for reference.)

Your best option would be to ask if there’s any forum member in your area (with the right tools) can help you out.

Forumlating a plan is when your forum buddies help you formulate a plan  laughingdp

Where the side stand bolts to the engine cases is a weak spot - it would be the first place to look for a leak.

Good news about the oil leak... just a seal that needed to be replaced.

Okay... gonna have them order the tank.  Still need to see if the guy will coat it for me. Smiley

I said no to the fenders- I'll try to do them myself.  (eek!)
I said no to the levers - I'll do that myself.

I want black triple tree-  should I get mine removed and coated or would it be more cost effect to order.
I need new handlebars.  MUST BE BLACK AND FIT.  Any ideas?  I bought a handlebar before and it didn't fit/needed to be drilled.
I'll order that footpeg and

Does anyone know where I can get a black timing belt cover.. NOT CARBON FIBER.  The one on there was painted black.. now its chipping. Sad  Can I replace that myself?

I kinda wish my bike were an S4R.. Sad

Front fender - two bolts on each.

Beer tray: disconnect and remove tail light - remove four bolts/nuts from underneath - disconnect turn signal wires and pull out plate light rubber socket.

(both will explain themselves by looking at the parts catalog. ducati.com -> Dealers and Services -> Maintenance

Clutch lever as described in previous links. Be CAREFUL so you don't lose the tiny black 'pin' which sits between lever and micro switch. You won't see it unless you know it's there, but now you are prepared.

Black Rizoma "Sport MA011" http://www.monsterparts.com/pc/MA005/Bars-Mirrors/MA005.html
Ask your shop to drill them?

Want to learn? Paint the triple yourself. If the shop will remove the triple for you (10 minute job), take it home and paint it yourself. Lots of cleaning and some light sanding, three or four light coats of matt/flat black.

Black belt covers for 2007 year - new from dealer at $132 for the pair.... Part # 24510471AB and 24510481AB
If your grey covers weren't painted, you could color them with clothes dye (yes, it works great), but I think first stripping the paint will be a lot worse than buying new/used.
Easy to change yourself - a few bolts on each. Spray bolts with WD40 a few hours or a day before, to make sure the bolts come out without hassle.

Thats the V thing right?

I live in an apartment building so I don't have the ability to paint stuff.. also... just don't have time.  Probably faster to get it ceramic coated.

Okay, I just ordered the handlebars and the covers. Smiley

I asked the shop how much to take off the triple and the swingarm so I can take it somewhere to get it powder coated.

Stuff is stressful. lol

The covers are black for 695 and black for the 2007 S2R800. Same shape and fitment as 2005/2006 S2R800. Just have them confirm black, so you won't be stuck paying for grey if they screw it up.

They are not V  bang head we are riding Ducatis and our bikes have the cylinder configuration of an L  Grin

Sounds like you're getting somewhere - good work  waytogo

Belt covers are plastic so you won't be able to ceramic coat them.

ASV lever, for Monster S2R (They will fit, of course. They are fold-out type, so they won't break as easily as solid one piece lever, and adjustable for your hand size.)

Someone’s video that might help you to visualize how it goes.

Are these the best levers?  Just asking because if I replace one side, I need to replace both sides and its looking like over $200 for levers then?  I've seen cheaper on ebay but I am assuming those are crappy Chinese ones.
