Hell All,
I am pretty new to the forum. Im loaded with questions. I have been searching around I have not been able to find much help on 2 topics.
Fairings & Replacement tanks.
I own a 2003 Monster Dark ie 620

To start out with, I am looking to put some fairings on my bike over the winter. Some people do not like the look but I have found a post of people using Ducati 1098 Fairings on a Monster 620.

Here is the thread.
http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=10944.0
If you look on the Far right and Left you see these bikes are 620's.

I am looking to do just what they did, on a street legal platform. Has any else seen these fairings?
I would also need to mount new headlights to the bike itself.

Question 2:

Tank repair. On the other side of my tank, there is a sizable dent. *Dont have photo.

I went to the local body shop and they said it would cost me quite a bit to fix it and that I would be better off just buying a new tank.
I have fitment questions.  I have looked for information on comparable tanks and nobody seems to answer the question clearly as to what will fit on a 620 dark ie. If anyone has any information I like to know.

If it would maybe just be better to bondo the dent too? Any advise at all would be appreciated,

Thank you very much for your time.

Here is a picture of the dent, the only one I have. Sorry for the quality.

Fairings... I assume you mean fairings for cold weather?  If so, the superbike fairings will do little good IMO.

If for looks: a permanent, professional installation requires welding tabs onto the frame...

Tank dent... I hear ducpainter is good at fixing those.

Im sorry, I think I typed that wrong.

This winter im doing a tear down of my bike, fixing issues and replacing things. The whole 9 yards. Getting it ready for next riding season.

I am looking at putting on fairings for aesthetic reasons. I just think they look awesome.

No, the Monster is a naked bike, please don't add useless parts to it, please.  Wink

I know what you mean. I know it is supposed to be a naked bike. I just think it would be cool to switch it up a bit.

Your bike looks awesome, don't make the beast with two backs it up.  Wink

I'm sorry, I meant to say the *Tank Dent.

One of my first priorities is getting that huge dent in the tank taken care of.

Whether that be Bondo or a new tank.

The only people that "switched it up a bit" to put fairings on were taking advantage of some obscure local racing rules.

It is easier to put together a "bitsa" than to add full SBK fairings to a Monster.

calling a bikini fairing on a monster a fairing is like calliing a girl in an actual bikini proper work attire....unless shes a stripper.

and if you want fairings on ur monster frame, then the obvious question is where do u mount them?

answer: u cant, unless u make the mounts. are u ready for that level of commitment? when you take the fairings off, ull see the mounts.
