Has anyone "flashed" their stock m1100 with the duc performance map?

forgive me for my ignorance, maybe im just not describing this correctly.  Ive read a few posts that seem to indicate that a stock ecu (?!?!) can be reprogrammed with the ducati performance map??  and that by doing this, it somewhat smoothes out that low end burble.. stumble, hickups when you add a aftermarket slip on??  true, not true? Any feedback appreciated.

There is a massive thread that covers closed loop ECU tuning. It covers a range of tuning solutions including reflashes of the ECU to various specs. Sponsor Motowheels does this.

I swapped to a Ducati Performance ECU and while it was better then the stock map it still ran to lean so I have now re-mapped the ECU with a custom map and it is seriously night and day. My 1100 runs alot cooler and smoother with more power right across the rev range and you can choose whether to turn off your O2 sensors and flapper valve motor and add a cool start-up message.

If you decide to run just the standard Ducati Performance map the flapper motor will be obsolete anyway so the advantages of a custom map you can switch that off also and remove it as it is quite heavy and if you want to go the whole hog you can track down a used 696 midpipe which is a direct replacement sans the flapper valve which is also lighter and provides better flow and with the O2 sensors turned off they can also be removed. Standard exhaust bungs can be purchased at good parts stores or exhaust shops.
