Anywho, not much progress on seat, broke some tools, and threw some other things, went for the bag but hands cant seem to interpret brain. Worked on the covers to go on, at least made some progress there.

that part of the frame is a known weak point and is prone to cracking.
Now that you've removed part of the bracing it looks a bit weaker.. I'd be putting some gussets in there as well...

Thanks, will be doing that when I finish mock up and do final welding. The physics of the frame have changed so there is no flex at that point anymore. The pressure exerted from the suspension is now countered by the rider, where as before the rider weight was only to the rear of the bike, it is now shared between the front and rear. The new weak point is behind the suspension pivot at the butt joint. Which is why I ran a slug the full length of that tube.

OK, did some finish welding on the frame, and some grinding, did a wee tank stretch. will be finishing gas tank and frame when new tig gets in. No love for the mig.
