I've done a few 190/50/17's onto 5.5" wheels at customers requests, but the 190/55 is too wide for a 5.5" wheel IMO.

I have used 190 Metzeler RaceTecs K1's & K2's before and loved them, slowed the turning down just a bit for me.  First time I have used MAXXIS though.

I agree. The profile will be wrong. Closer to correct on 5.75 but ideal on 6" wheel. Spooning it onto a 5.5" wheel will result in a different round shape than preferred. 5.5" : 180.

But it will look mighty fat.

I have run this profile for a while now and it works for me.  Oh and it does look fat!

Interesting set up. Nice looking stacks. I like the well rolled lip on the bellmouth.

I don't understand the reason for the springs on the header. That doesn't appear to be a slip fit piece...?

They are most definitely needed.

That may be the case, but I can't see why they would be from that picture. Can you explain or show how the head pipes are held in like that?

Right here goes:

The header has a loose cap that slots on the end giving a tight fit in the exhaust port.  The exhaust clamp does not make contact with the cap so the springs keep it all in place.

Not the biggest of pictures but you can see the ends of the headers are smooth unlike the standard ones:

Hope this helps.

Ahhhh, so the clamp doesn't make contact with the header at all? I see now. Interesting...
