Recommend Rear Sets for M1100?

Hi,

My bank account is starting to feel the joys of owning a new bike (2010 M1100). So far I've ordered:

• DP Low Seat
• CNC Shorty Levers
• Bar End Mirrors
• Tech Spec Tank Grips
• Crash Bobbins
• - Luckily the bike already has Termignonis and the fender eliminator

Anyway, one thing I really don't like about the M1100 is the silver wheels and bulky silver rear sets. Can anyone recommend any affordable black alternatives for the rear sets? As for the wheels I'll either powder coat them or just replace them at some point.

You could cut down the stock wings - if riding with a passenger isn't required...

Or search here for 'rearsets 1100' (lots of info if you do)

Thanks, I did look around but created this thread (should be an option to delete it). I recon when I pick up the bike in the UK I may just get the rear sets powder coated at the same time as the wheels. Will post pictures when I do.

That or get the CNC or Ducabike rearsets. Perhaps the wheels won't be a problem after that. Was reading the other thread here: http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=41545.0

 I replaced the stock peg mounts on my 09 M1100S with s*r monster mounts painted black and the were the cats meow!

I've seen this a couple of places. Did you have to install a pressure switch for the brake light?

Looks like the 1100evo rearsets may also be a cheaper option.

I went with later model black chicken wings that I bought from someone relatively cheap as they had purchased aftermarket rear sets. As I have the occasional passenger I still need the passenger pegs, and the black (as opposed to grey/silver) look much better.

....................now if I can ever get around to making my wheel black I'll be about "done"!

I'm definitely leaning that way - at least initially. The black blends into the bike a lot so it's not really much of an issue.

I've had Rizoma on both my 1100's.  I did the first bike and the previous owner the second.



And with the optional passenger pegs.

Those look awesome, although I'm trying to budget at the moment. I've spent £5k on the bike ad £1.5k on gear so far. I have a local dealer close to me in the UK who can get the 1100 evo rear sets. However, could someone please brake down the exact parts (with numbers) for the conversion - or know of a source with these details?

I've got the part numbers and blown diagram, but not 100% what parts I need and what parts I can salvage from the original rear sets. Just checking with anyone who has converted to the 1100 evo rear sets.
