Hello all,

Skycustoms used to offer this fairing bracket, but I can't get a reply from them.
http://skycustoms.blogspot.com/

Does anyone know where to get those post ends?  Is there a name for such a fitting?  Or do you think they were custom made?

It would be nice to know a name for such items, and then find them on McMaster-Carr, or some such site.  I know I could make a bracket out of aluminum stock, but these are so much nicer.

Thanks,
Eric

I got the very last set years ago, but the carbon rods broke in a crash.

Still have my old Poor-Duc-Rider fairing stays, but not as nice looking.

The angles and bends are complicated, so finding them in a store isn't very likely  Undecided

Google anodized aluminum rod ends.

It wouldn't be exact but a clever, motivated, person could make it work.

They were made and sold by Matrix Motorsports, a company which changed name to Black Dog Cycle Works and business focus to adventure parts AFAIK. They design and manufacture aluminum parts, so maybe...  If we can motivate senior to make another batch....

If they don't have the drawings/CAD files or whatever they need, I can ship my bits to them.

Maybe you can lead this project for the community? Easier you in the US than me in Europe, perhaps...

Good idea ducpainter - a quick search turned these up, which could be made to work.

30 minutes into ownership I was ready to tear the fairing off; it flopped around so badly it was like someone was beating on my helmet.  If poorducrider were still around and making fairing stays, I'd have bought those.  Instead I finally finished -- well, mostly finished -- these, made from ¼" OD mild steel tubing.  The difference is immense.  70mph is quite comfortable.  Next up is a Zero Gravity ST screen.
A little more searching turned up this good effort by blalor.

Generic rod ends combined with these would get us closer    http://www.desmoworld.com/shop/ducati-monster/s2r-s4r-s4rs/fussrasten/desmoworld-ergal-carbon-schaltstange-evo-ii.html

, but the angles, or lack of, and use of screw and nut would look a little messy compared to the originals...
