Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar kicked me out of the band..... they said I didnt fit the image they were trying to project.

So I went solo.  -Me

I remember the Summer Sanitarium Tour of few years ago (with Deftones, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, etc.) and I left the Coliseum after 3/4 of their concert... They were just playing St. Anger  [puke] and I couldn't stay there anymore.
I was at the concert here in Bologna 2 days ago and they rocked the stage!  [evil] No St.Anger and many many classics, I loved it! They still sound amazingly good and I can't wait for the new album to come out (if it's really gonna be different from their last one).

Wolvie,

I went to two shows on that tour and I think they played St Anger and Frantic at both of them.  I  can't believe that they played any more than that at the show you went to.  If any it would be one more.  Check out the set list at Met on Tour and see.  They are very good at switching up set lists and playing music from every album.  Plus you guys in Europe suck!!  They've done way more tours over there lately and are only doing 4 shows here this summer.  I'm so jealous.  I had to drive 7 hours and pay 250 bucks to go to Bonarroo and see them last month.  Was worth it though.  There was tons of great bands there.  Like a lot of the festivals that you have.

testament has never toured normally. skolnic is playing with them at a lot of shows and they are always packed.

slayer is still selling out large venues and releasing albums. i would deem them relevant.

megadeth is still selling out large venues and unless i'm mistaken has a new album (not mentioning the "remastered" songs...get back on the smack dave!)

iron maiden - ok, i'll give you that one.

DT - i have seen people travel across the country to see them at 6 places down the east coast, and vice-versa for the west coast. they are constantly releasing albums. they are more relevant thatn metallica in their genre right now. (i only know all this because my g/f is borderline fangirl for them)

when i saw them right after st anger came out they only played 2 or 3 songs off of it and then played the good stuff. most of the songs were pre-black album. they played wherever i may roam and fuel. they might have played whiskey in the jar, but it's kinda running together. they prob also played one because they always seem to play it.

they also played my fav songs in one set. creeping death, wherever i may roam, four horsemen, fight fire with fire, battery, and seek and destroy.

Seriously, when i am 800years old i want to rock like Lemmy! it is a religion that requires lots of determination, drugs, and Marshall stacks.

Fine.

We will.

After the Black, suck-fest began.  I do like them a lot.  I hope the new album can reverse suck-fest.

Real metal lives on.

Hehe they are opening for Metallica right now!  Awesome band and I'll definitely be at their show in Austin later this year...

Well hopefully you guys have heard some of the album on the radio.  Check out www.metallica.com under A Feast of Death for 6 of the 10 songs.

I had high hopes for this album and they have surpassed them.  This new album definitely sounds like Metallica for all of those who only like pre-black.  Oh yeah and Kirk remembered how to play solos.

Just give it a shot and I think you will be pleasantly surprised.  Its hard, mean, and evil.

No, but when I am passionate about something I am really go full bore. ;D

I am this passionate about three things.  Metallica, Buckeye Football, and Monsters.

Seriously though.  I have taken a lot of crap for my steadfast defense of the mighty Metallica and I am just pumped that this album lives up to all of the pressure they as a band were under.  It is really good. [evil]

I saw them live.  Faith No More, GnR, and Metallica at Meadowlands years back.  Was a great show.

You were there too?

I remember GnR playing about 5 songs, someone threw a bottle Axl, and the show was over.

Metallica's set is STILL the best show I've EVER seen!!!

I saw that tour in Indianapolis at the Hoosier Dome. Metallica kicked ass. Faith no More kicked ass. GNR.....well......they WERE ass.

Since then I haven't liked anything Metallica have done. I still love that kind of music, but so many other bands are doing it better ( IMHO) so I stopped buying.

Yea I thought it was funny, I came with a friend and I was there to see Metallica & Faith no More.  He came to see GnR and we left early.  [laugh]
