Yeah I think starter motors can get over looked, the earth side goes through the first cap then body to brush plate and corrosion between and inside can spoil that path (just to point out to others reading here).

Brush, bearing, seal and o-ring kit is around £50.

Interesting you say that as I just replaced the starter on an MTS1100 (among other work). It had been a hard starter from new according to the owner. Starts with a single crank now. Probably should have been a warranty job way back when.

I've been looking at portable scopes that range in size from hand held to the size of a shoe box. That's important since I frequently work on site, so I'm looking for recommendations. I currently have access to a mate's old style multifunction tuning station the size of a fridge! laughingdp
