How can you say that Spider. A PC is like a hot rod. You can customise them anyway you want, bigger flasher case with water cooling, smaller home theatre silent running systems, multiple CPU's under the bonnet, multiple SLI'd video cards for extra grunt, and anything in between.
yeah, well every time you try and take your 'hot rod' out into public there are a million scumbags trying to rip it down - you spend more time getting the thing running and trying to keep it pristine that your productivity falls to barely nothing.
PC's are good for guys that would have owned a MG or lotus or any other British sports thing in the mid 20th century....you buy one knowing that you will spend more time fixing it than driving it.
still not sure what a Ducati car equivalent is, they are high end but not incredibly limited in numbers (Ferrari or Pagani Zonda(25 cars a year!)) and the fact remains that t a person CAN work on them if they desire...

and Alfa Romeo are discussed with such words as passion, drive, character, soul....
the company has also been known for financial and electrical issues - I'm seeing some similarities here!
that 8c is pretty - should be - it's made in the Maserati factory with ATR carbon (Colnage bicycles and...um...Ferrari!) and has Brembo's on it too

Paul, would you like to look at my stock clutch springs off a 5 year old bike ridden for 20k on the driest continent on the planet? I still don't know what colour the alloy is...all I see is pitted dark orange!
you think the Italians install components wet? or bless the machinery with water from the Ligurian sea?

apparently it's piss poor sealing of packing containers. years and years ago i was into fiats, god only knows why
, but i digress, and just about everyone with one had major rust issues, as well as the alfa nuts, cause they were parked in containers and shipped on deck. i imagine that even the best galvanised bodied bmw's and benz' would have rusted out if they were subjected to that! nowadays they're shipped on specific freight liners and kept below deck and dry and driven on and off, add to that the designs are much better and corrosion resistance is better, etc.etc. still wouldn't have another though.

I like the idea of an Alfa GTV6 from the 80's as a project car, but everyone warns you away from them. Maybe an EB XR8 Sprint.
Oops I accidently got back on topic.....nearly

Wasn't the Alfa rust due to the company sourcing most of it's metal from Russia in the seventies and Eighties??
The only cars that were generally immune were the 'Gold Clover Leaf' Alfetta's and Gtv's due to Alfa actually preparing them with an anti-rust coating.....

not sure hugh,
but when i worked for an alfa dealership a lot of years ago the condition they arrived in was average to say the least, most needed panel and paint before they could be sold iirc.

Love the way the licence plate is a complete afterthought (used to really annoy me about Alfas, 'cos it looks so shit).
