* in extreme cases, it may be necessary for nav owner to find hot chick who sells nav systems. Bang her till she's convinced you are into her. Then, when you are convinced that she's into you, announce that your system has failed. After she gives you a replacement system (an act of love on her end), stop returning her calls.

Luca.  Just go an get a new nav system.

$1000 bucks and a better system http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?g=182350&i=113DNX5120&tp=526

If you look on CL, you can find a shop that sells these installed for ~700 brand new.  This unit uses the latest Garmin nav technology and has a ton of internal memory as well.  NavTeq navs are shit anyhow.

I don't know the specifics of your vehicle but I wouldn't just go buy a new system.  Newer cars have trouble taking aftermarket electronics because of the way they communicate information.  I would look online for a used unit (yours is definetly bad and there is probably nothing anyone can do for faulty internals).  I think the dealership is correct in saying that they can't fix it because that is not how it works in a high end dealership.  If a module or part is faulty they just replace it.  Very, very rarely do they try and fix something internal on an electronic part.

+1 on just getting a new system. I bet the navteq has some crappy reader in it and the laser got knocked around too hard in the accident and is out of alignment. You might try taking it to a computer/ DVD repair shop if you REALLY want to but it would probably end up cheaper or equal price to swap it out with something better.
ErkZ NOT in SLO w/ his '95 m900!
The end is in sight! Gotta buckle down and get to work!

Does your truck have a mmi screen or something of that nature?  Or is it a remote screen that you put on the dash or window?  If it is a screen in the dash that also works the radio and such be careful because most of those use fiberoptics to communitcate info.
