So late Saturday afternoon after a so-so productive day working on the Monster I decided to take the Gixxer home the scenic route up over H3 into Kaneohe, back up the Pali, turn around back down the Pali finishing up through one of our favorite twisty sections. All by myself and without too much traffic on the road. I was really liking the bike and had big fun. I was feeling pretty good about the bike and such.

Then Sunday I did something I should not have done, but...........

I was offered a ride on an 1198.

I took the offer.

From the top of 13 Turns, over to H3, up & over to H1, H2 and one pass through Tech Park.

OMG!

I forgot how much I missed the big bore twin.

Now I'm really messed up.  I can't look at the Gixxer the same way any more. There was always that certain "something is missing but I don't know what"  because it works so good. It does work good.  Damned good in fact, but.............. it ain't the same.

I want the big boom-boom again. It doesn't hurt that it handles better than the 999 and doesn't scorch the inside of my right leg.

Rats.      Double rats.

Hmmm...  So the 1198 really lit your fire eh?  You know, if I end up re-enlisting down here (about 30% chance that I will) I will most likely be buying one of those, in white.  If so you can ride it as much as you want.   Grin

There are also lots of good deals on 1098's going arond.  I have almost completely corrupted one of the Army guys that I am working with down here, and he is on the prowl for one now.   waytogo

Ok Mr. Mac, I hate to do this but I have to request a slightly more detailed ride report on that 1198.  Who's was it?  I had been seriously kicking the idea around of getting one if I suddenly ran into a large sum of money, and as I said earlier, there is about a 30% chance of that happening before I come back.  So talk to me.  Wink

Was the sandwich really that bad?

On another note, Chris is wondering if you know anything about an upcoming apprenticeship program at the shipyard... i guess his bro is looking.
