went to Kaui on friday. did some hunting, spear fishing, hiking, and all kinds of sight seeing, just got home today. it was beautiful but i dont know if i could live there. i didnt see any ducati friendly roads in all the 5 hours of driving i did from one end of the island to the other. traffic was minimal, and streets lights were hardly anywhere but the roads where boring, smooth, but boring.

2 words: Waimea Canyon

this isn't me, nor is it a ducati. but at least it's a v-twin.  [moto]

Ears FM to Y
Ears Y to Lookout

UJM bikes:
Arthur and Shige: Together Again

there are two routes to get to the "Y" section (at the stop sign)--the Kekaha route and the Waimea route; the Waimea route is depicted in the first vid. The Kekaha one is used by tour buses, and the road isn't as good. If you went to the canyon and took the Kekaha route, it is possible that this could have lessened the impression.

funny you should say that, cause about the only place i didnt go was up that canyon. we drove to waimea town but turned around at the baseball field cause my gf said she didnt want to go all the way up there just to turn around and "rush" back to the airport. i might go back in september, and may even rent a ... harley [vomit]
it is so much easier to get forgiveness then it will ever be to get permission.

It's a nice road.  Worth the trip.

Hey, how did you arrange the disappearing SUV in the second video (Ears Y to Lookout @ 3:44)? Clearly he was going to be a killjoy and BAM he's gone.  WTF?  Death-Ray?

Do share - I want one!  Coulda used it on the snake road yesterday after Polo!
I turned it into a gnat with this. They were selling 'em on e-bay but in think Homeland Security shut the seller down.

14 hours of work today. Whee! A small bit offset by the fact that the boss & I had two FD Imperial Porters at the end of the day (my treat) but we were still working. Then I had to test drive an insurance job home just to make sure & sure enough there is still more work to do on it. Picky--picky.

Finally got my house hold goods yesterday.  The moving company dropped off two lazy ass teenagers with no tools to unload, unpack and re-assemble all six crates (plus the SD) of my stuff.  So far it doesn't look like anything got damaged, but not much was actually done other than move boxes into the flat and set up the bed.  The moving company is pissed at me right now because I am making them send another crew back out today to actually finish the work they were supposed to do yesterday.  At first they said that they had neither the time nor the people to do so, but they changed their minds when I refused to sign the paperwork until it was done to my satisfaction.

DAMN this PCS has been the biggest ass pain I have ever dealt with...

How did he like it?  I told Frederick (in another thread) that he could probably talk you into helping him do the spark plugs on your old bike if he bought you a six of that.  ;)

Salaried don't you know. That means that the fact that I'm compensated to begin with automatically means that it's fair. Don't worry, I don't. I have a shop at my disposal which is both a curse and a blessing.   [laugh]
We have a few old school guys dealing with a few new wave guys. Sort of a tide coming in against the river going out. There is slack to pick up and the ones who are creating the slack aren't even aware that it exists. Thus not only does the slack have to be dealt with but also the challenge of creating the awareness of it. I'll let you guess who the players are.

Now that would be overcompensation. It'd be about right to help him with the oil change, spark plug change & brake bleeding and that might still be pushing it a bit. Oh yeah, shop space charge, now that's the ticket.  [beer]

The boss liked them just fine. A first he thought it was something that I brewed at home.  After we had one each he thought about it for a while and then went for a second one.  [laugh]

Oh salaried like me.  It's great, I only work 1/2 days (7am to 7pm), and if i don't finish my work by then it's obviously my fault for being a slacker.

Perfectly obvious to me.   ;D

Bought 2 "lilikoi chiffon" pies to bring home for $30 for the domestic boss and her BFF. Seriously, $15 for a stupid pie whose entire top layer is 2" of Cool Whip? They're not even that good.   [puke]
