My baffle set up is like yours was the last time I saw your bike, I'll get an idea of how much louder things are when I go for a ride in a bit...if it's too loud, I have an idea of how to quite it down some while keeping the cleaned up look of the exhaust outlet...

A bit too loud for me, gonna have to set plan B in motion...

Stopped by SSD on the way back to have them document and order a new gas tank due to expansion problems...the tank wall is pushing into the coolant filler neck bracket under the keyguard, it's also pushing up against the steeriing stabilizer bracket and the front of the tank is now acting as the steering stops on both sides of the bike... I believe those tanks are actually less costly than the stock one...DNA won't go for it because they'll more than likely get a replacement at no cost from their supplier...

Yessir...of the 50 respondents to a poll conducted on ducati.ms, 21 replied that they show signs of gas tank expansion on their SFs...

the sad part is that i was told by a certain "ducati mechanic" at a certain "ducati dealership" in hawaii that the 08 and up 848s, 1098s, 1198s, SFs, and monsters wouldnt have any
problems with tank expansion.  i know of 1 848 that started to show a bubble and now i see that SFs are affected too.  boo

My '09 848 tank has a couple pimples here & there. Still a bit subtle in appearance but I've already filed for a replacement. No luck yet there. I asked about the aluminum replacement and offered to pay some. No deal. I've been running Startron fuel additive since Gene referred us to the ad in Cycle World (?) so that's been a few months, maybe since spring. Don't know if it's helping or not.

i spent the afternoon detailing the 848 and the monster and luckily no problems yet that i can see on either fuel tank. i just spent my one year anniversary with the 848 a few days ago and am pleased to say
that after a year of pretty hard riding, 11,900 miles, 2 sets of tires, a new radiator, and a new engine case. that all in all my bike is still going strong! ... (knock on wood)
