2014 Speed Triple R

« Reply #3090 on: October 09, 2010, 07:24:50 PM »

Washed the wife's car this morning then went down to the shop after lunch via H3, 13 turns & Norfolk where Rick was working on the yellow 620ie...

Emile showed up to plug a slow leaking rear tire, followed by Brandon...we all followed Rick to TLC in Kaneohe to check out his old 999...

Stopped in Kalihi on the way home to pick up the further modified baffles for the Akrapovics...plan B is almost complete...

So what's the word on the 999?

I thought Emile left already.   Huh?

Emile leaves on Tuesday.

TLC Cycles picked up the 999 along with about 10 to 12 other bikes that were taking up space in the back of South Seas. We went down there because Randy was trying to sell the bike back to me and I wanted to see it again. It was also a good reason to road test the 620 seeing as how it's likely been a couple of years or more since it was driven.  Randy wanted $4K.  Ho  Ho  Ho.  Brandon noticed that the swing arm mounting bolts have moved in the frame and scratched the inside of the frame mounting gusset where the bolt head has no business hitting.  Angry  So we add that to sin of the bent steering head that we already suspect.

As much as I hate to say it, that bike is double done. There are a few low milage 05 & 06 ones available up here though?   Evil

Randy was trying to tell us that the Blue Book on that '03 is $15,000.  He's on the same stuff as the guys at South Seas. No, I take that back. He's on stronger stuff.  laughingdp

As fun as those bikes are they still don't handle like the 848.  waytogo  [moto]

Finally sold the Pazzo levers for the superbikes today. Just slowly sneaking up on enough funds to finance the next mods.
