That would have been cool, but his partner halfway down the block may have frowned upon that type of behavior...

Hope the gas leak isn't too bad.  I thought I smelled it yesterday while leaving ssd, but I didn't think much if it.  After all, we must all like the smell of gas and exhaust from a duc

Will checked all of the tank & fuel line fittings and is not exactly sure where the fumes are coming from, but the tank is visibly expanding and the radiator filler neck bracket is gouging the tank...the smell is not as noticible today, but that may be because it is nearly empty...

How different is that tank from a SBK's?

Different enough where the SBK tank won't fit...

I could have the new tank coated, but if that tank expands will it be covered under warranty...plus, I would be out of pocket for the coating, shipping, etc...now if Ducati was smart they would supply me with a nice aluminum one...

+1

still not sure how replacing 2 or 3 plastic tanks instead of just giving 1 aluminum tank the first time the it happens on a bike is a good business decision.

I'd be willing to bet Ducati (and Aprilia, KTM and now MV) are sticking those costs to Acerbis, and not swallowing it themselves.

another plus on metal tanks for Monsters would be larger capacity and maybe the same weight ... ca-cycleworks tanks are OK if you want to change the looks of the bike, but, I do like the shape of the OEM tank ...
