Oh, FWIW, Ive heard those things work pretty well too. But hopefully some other people will chime in with ideas. Good luck!

STOP! The ebay item is just a small section of kitchen cabinet and drawer liner. You can buy a yard of that stuff for less than ten bucks at Kmart, Walmart, etc, etc.

monostrack or some company like that sells a backrest in a trellis style frame. I sold one not to long ago. Very well made, price is in the $300's

I have the monstrack backrest. It's not pretty, but it solves the problem if your girlfriend is sliding out of the bike when you accelerate.

My girlfriend slides too. I decided to try having her sit up front w/ me and it actually made the bike handle better and wasn't terribly uncomfortable. On the stock seat there's plenty of space up front for 2 small people.  Grin
