and for the Melbournites....

Zagames on Richmond aren't taking service orders next week - the Desmosedici's are apparently taking over the shop the whole week!

If the weather is shocking next week...perhaps we can met at a Richmond cafe, do coffee then walk on up?

The Desmosedici is twice the bike of any Monster.
Don't be offended Monsterheads. Remember: this racer with lights is a V4.
I am waiting for a V4 version of the Monster to appear in the near future.
Dream on.... I hear you say.
If we don't ask DUCATI for a Monster DD16.....  we will never see it happen.
Tell your local Dealer what we really want.
I have already requested my next Multistrada to come with 16 valves and await their reply.
Cheers (and happy dreaming!) BIG AL

The GT is far removed from this topic (DD16).
The hijacking of this thread to serve the purpose of obtaining the unobtainable (said GT),
is outside the guidelines of this forum.
Please keep to the topic.
p.s. how do you become a "full member" ? Is pulling up trouble-makers (like yourself), helpful in upgrading from "new" to "full member" ?

Ducati Adelaide has 2 of these magnificent machines in the showroom with buyers lining up.... wow.. at the price I didnt think too many would be getting sold in Adelaide but they assure me they have firm orders and deposits... WOW.. They are a great looking bike but I think I would take a 1098S  and the change... lol

80 DD16's sold in Australia. 12 have landed. the remaining deliveries may take the rest of the year.
A friend bought one recently. He bought one for his wife too!
Or was that... his wife bought one for him too ?
Anyhow.... they will be able to race each other on equal equipment.... on the race track, of course !

So what level is the yellow group then?
Never done one of these track days.
But I am going to one in August with the D.O.C. NSW people.
I'm told we've filled the yellow group with Duc's

Should be pretty no less...

Hey Matty,

There are 4 groups - White (slowest), Yellow, (next level), green (Fast) and Red (racers).

I will be there in the DOC NSW Aug day too! Should be a heap of fun! [cheeky]

Great I should be comfortable then.
Have been on track plenty of times in a cage.
Will be my first venture out on the Duc.

Which is why I wanted to do a course before.

Matty from what i have seen yellow is a great group you can always start the day at the back of the pack if you don’t feel confident work your way up slowly as you get more confident .I have a mate in the red group that in my opinion is kidding him self.

He is running 1:58 which is consistent with some guys in Green or faster yellow .The higher groups IMO is for people whom have developed good race craft so if you get in there way they will run you down there vicious bastards but they can rids.

I have ridden with you many time you’ll have no problem, when the fun stops just slow down its simple there won’t be a bimbo in a Bikini with a trophy waiting for you when you finish.

Ditto your comments Matty. Would like to know what I am doing right and fix those nasty bad habits that I don't know I am doing........ Then a track day could be fun......

And agree with you Dock "when the fun just stops just slow down".  [thumbsup]

Hey all,

Is the Desmosedici the only Duc around with that distinctive striped paint?  Cos if it is I reckon I saw one the other day when I was out on the pushy.  He was heading through Hurstbridge in the city direction.  Probably been for a spin up around Kinglake way.
If it was then you are right about the exhaust.  It sounds very lame.  I didn't pay any attention at first because it sounded so ordinary but when it went past and I saw the paint I nearly snapped my neck trying to get a better look. :o
Now, how do I scam a ride? [evil] [evil]

Cheers.

Meister, I rang Zagames (in Richmond) earlier this week, so far 2 have been built up by them - one has already left - so it is possible you saw one in Melbourne.

the other was described as 'in a corner tucked away' which is motorcycle shop talk for 'I don't know you and think you're a wanker'

good riding out of Hurstbridge, eh!

There is also an economic reason waiting until December, I only need to finance 1/3 of the cost in December where I would need finance 1/2 the cost now.

Personally I never take an early model anything.
You never know by December they may even include a hugger as standard if enough customers ark up.
Choice is ultimately yours 20 odd k is a big enough difference in finance and interest.

but if you want to dive in you know we'll all support you with any offer of sleep overs we can.
Can you get a good look at WF's bike at Frasers, as in under the skin that might help you make up your mind as to build quality.

I dunno, might just be talking crap also.

Being the all round good guy I am  and out of the goodness of my heart Dock I'll keep in my garage till December for you......  [thumbsup]

PS: If it was me...... I'd take it NNNOOWWWWW......

No, my garage is much bigger.

I can't make your mind up for you, but, sounds to me like it's a customer's bike that they haven't got the balls to pay for it. Or they realised they can't afford it.

It won't be any different in December, get it now and it will be waiting for you when you come back from your travels. Something to look forward to after working hard. ;D

Super I have a 1300 square mtr warehouse so a place to put it wont be a problem .It will be living in my office when im not riding it .

I also had the impression it was a cancellation ,But im in no hurry as I enjoy my current Ducati’s, but it would be nice to have it for my track day in August .

The current deliveries are having some teething problems at the moment so getting it in December will more than likely sort them out [thumbsup]

Yeah this is what I'm thinking that it is such a high performance machine that teething problems will be part of early ownership.
Just read the general board and see all the issues the new 696 owners are having.

I sort of figured you would have a bigger space than me.  :P

But it would look much nicer being looked after while you are away.

It will be lonely in that big warehouse.  ;)

Is that the same as the bloke who wrote in AMCN of a D16 in the RNP?

Stopped at Bald Hill? Is Halfway House another name for Bald Hill?
