+2... i mean... didnt anyone on their staff realize that the name "gladius" would automatically translate to the bike being called the "gladys"?
i wonder if they will learn their lesson and quickly change the name and look back...
Well, gladius is Latin for sword, and Katana had been used already.
What's wrong with calling a bike Gladys? I've named my bikes, though I never actually call them by name (it always seems wierd).

Wow, thanks guys. This thread did a lot to cheer me up after loosing my best friend of 15 years. My little Jack Russell terrier has had congestive heart problems for about a year. Last Sunday she was running around the block like usual (neighbors all liked her so it wasn't a problem). She had some cataracts going on and her vision wasn't what it once was so she used the road edge to navigate and stay on the block. But apparently last Sunday she got confused and ran the wrong way. I found her about 1.5 miles away lying on the side of the road. She apparently had run herself out trying to find her way back home. She was still alive when I found her but she couldn't get back on her feet. I put her in the truck and brought her home. She gasped for breath about 10 minutes before she finely just passed. I hope she knew I had found her and brought her home. I blame myself for not keeping her on a lead that day but I like to think she went the way she would have preferred; running. Like the old Stones song says, "Not fade away". Really miss her, she was my constant companion every day since I work at a home office.
Now in keeping with the theme of this thread, I submit this:

Although I have to say there were one or two in the video that weren't too bad.
Sorry to hear about your pup... :'( Glad the DMF could return a grin to your chin however!

seriously, do you think that's rideable? it looks like one good pothole would fold the front right into the motor. are there laws about headlight height and "rideability"?
Depends on jurisdiction. I know in most states "ape hangars" are illegal. That typically pertains to any situation where the hands are higher than the shoulders...

Anyone who actually uses that should be pregnant dogslapped....with his bike....and then have it taken away from them.
And while I love Harleys, most over-the-top choppers are just silly. And OCC? Hell, I know theme bikes are just artwork and not real bikes, but even their non-theme bikes suck.

it took a few people quoting this, but i finally read the ad. at first i thought it was an ad for a trailer. sadly i bet there are a lot of people that would be interested in this product.
It fits right in with the car idiots who buy the "Interfooler" fake intercooler and little speaker thing that plays a "blow-off valve sound" every time you push in the clutch, all to make it look like a car has a turbo when it doesn't.
The big problem with the trailer thing here is......how is it gonna fool people when they see you rolling it off and on the trailer? :D

As I recall, there was some love, them some queries, then some uncertainty and trepidation, then some indignation and outrage.
I didn't participate in much of any of it, but I remember it happening.
Something about it handling poorly, and/or being a death-trap.
Yes, Norm built the bike for himself, the sold it due to health reasons. The bike was well received until it was sold. The person who bought the bike, well, let's just say he was not a happy camper and badmouthed Norm all over the internet and refused all offers by Norm to make things right including new triples to alter geometry back to more conventional numbers. If you are curious there may be more info on the old board. Actually, if you google Phil Barone Ducati you will come up with some history.
